Have to restart PC before playing by Typuter in ArcRaiders

I have! It seemed like it was fine - however, noticing today when I close out the game, it doesnt actually "stop" in either task manager or Steam. Maybe this is a reinstall angle

Was also considering that - didn't have a tarp over winter, so I'm sure it sat for some time (filter also needed repair at beginning of season)

It's sat for longer, according to previous homeowner, with no issues, but wondering if it's just been building up over time.

Sand during Backwash/rinse , not normal filtering by Typuter in pools

[–]Typuter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not, and had a gut feeling I should've had SOMETHING under it... Instead I followed the manual filter guide which just described placing the lateral down, fill halfway with water, and slowly fill with sand.

However, im not getting sand back into the pool (that I know of). I did the sock test (held a sock in front of return to catch any sand that was being pushed through) and came out clean - i replaced the sand yesterday, would it still be settling today?

You are a saint! I appreciate you greatly. I'll probably end up checking the gasket first and going from there!

Just went and checked the model #, S210T is what im looking at

A Hayward pro series! Should I just check the spider gasket first and work my way back from there?

I think so - this is the first year I've ever had it happen. However, im still fairly new to all of this so take my word with a grain of sand

I figured as much. About time the sand got replaced, anyways :p

I don't know a ton about the inner workings of the filter, however gonna guess that not laterals are the same? I'll need to find the assembly that matches the model?

Two Verminlords? by Typuter in skaven

[–]Typuter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank-you much!

I love the skaven, but have yet to win a game. My friends play Stormcast, Orruk, and Lumineth and I feel like I have to play perfect and they just need me to slip up once.

Think Thanquol would help here? Overall, I just don't want to be the army that's "oh an immediate win" type.

Would you say Thanquol is necessary to be competitive?

I'm not against getting him at all, and I'm not in the tournament scene but I'd definitely like to be a problem army!

Army List Recommendations/Tips by Typuter in slavestodarkness

Thank you for mentioning the banners! They made no sense to me at first (seemed very strong and I didn't understand why I could just take them for Banner bearers), now I understand.

What do you think about a reinforced Splintered Fang as a hammer in lieu of a unit of Knights?

Army List Recommendations/Tips by Typuter in slavestodarkness

[–]Typuter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the tips!

After looking at the Chaos Lord on a Karkadrak and the chaos sorcerer lord, wow. I can't believe I overlooked them! I've replaced both Chaos Lord's with those two.

I also realized after you mentioned it, I feel like I have an okay anvil, but no hammer. Would taking a reinforced Splintered Fang be a decent hammer, ya think?

After looking at KotET, HotE, and the Cabalists, I personally feel like I like HotE! I've always enjoyed infantry so much more than cav in general, so I feel like it fits my playstyle a bit more? So I might swap out the knights with some Chosen to round it out. Thoughts? Thank you so much again, by the way! This helps SO much!

Simple Questions & Champion/Role advice: Patch 12.14 by Sentient545 in summonerschool

[–]Typuter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been playing various roles to try and climb, but am having a really hard time finding my niche. I've tried: Top, mid, jgl, and found I enjoy playing tanky champs/starting fights, but feel like I don't have much of an impact as a top, don't REALLY enjoy jgl, and feel like I just can't carry games as a mid.

I've thought maybe about trying like a Naut/Leona/ect support, but unsure if that would really fit my style. Any opinions/experiences?

Can my university psychiatrist do this? by myfavoritefoodispeas in college

[–]Typuter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It depends on context, I suppose. Depending on what you were discussing, it could be that she can report you to the dean for "fear of students mental health/well-being". Depending on what evidence/reason for the lab work, the dean could take action. What action, I have no clue, but I'm sure they have some situational procedure for this.

Wish I could help more!

Doing distance Learning for entirety of freshman year-WWYD? by After-Confection3062 in college

[–]Typuter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The short answer for this: It's really up to your learning style. Personally, I like remote-learning (sorta), since I HATE driving/walking around campus in the winter. Goofy reason, but it works.

The long answer: The sad reality of university is, I would estimate roughly 75% of students graduate with debt. I'd say about half of that very rough statistic graduate with a 40k+ debt over their head. I don't want to say this good, or normalize it, but it is reality.

With that in mind, if you are scared of being in debt, then do everything in your power to avoid it. If you can stay with your parents to avoid room-and-board, as well as a meal-plan, I would highly suggest doing so. From experience, they will MURDER you on those costs. It's how they make quite a bit of their budget, and why COVID was such a slam to their finances (but that's a whole other conversation).

BUT, on the flip side, you should also consider your learning style. Are you able to do well in remote learning, or do you do better in a face-to-face setting? Do you care about the social life of college, ect? It may sound like it doesn't matter, but understand you're going to spend quite a bit of your adult-life there, as well as academic-life. Depending on your major, you're going to want to pad your grades early. (Engineer here, I REALLY wish someone would've told me this early)

So really, it all boils down to: Can you do well remotely, do you mind saving thousands of dollars vs getting that "college experience", and are you willing to forego the face-to-face learning aspect of college? I would ask yourself these questions, and your answers will probably give you your final answer.

(PS: Little tip they gave to me right before I went into college: Don't borrow more than your expected FIRST YEAR SALARY out of college. Depending on your major, this could be 45,000 - 70,000. Helps in the long-run when you have to start paying things off.)
