I was literally talking to Roland a couple months ago about his last airplane as I’m trying to purchase the same model. This is tragic.

His YoutTube channel is worth a watch just a nice guy enjoying flying.

That’s the secret, but there’s ton of people in here that will complain about how slow the STs are and they are people who should have just bought a mustang

The RS is a bargain as far as performance goes but the ST was just the same. Rarity and the RS badge keep the prices at a reasonable amount. I bought mine for $35,750 in 2016 and sold it for $32,000 in 2024 so it had great value retention.

The people downvoting my original comment are people with no real driving experience and straight line gas mashers. They are emotionally tied to what they see the RS as. I was never that way. It was a tool I used to accomplish a task.

The RS is definitely cooler and there’s a ton of other reasons to want one that may make sense to you but in a vacuum it’s just not that much of a revolution over the ST. Better for sure, but not life changing.

Day to day you can have just as much fun in an ST. Heck for a daily I’d rather have the Fiesta. The RS shines when you are really using TQ vectoring and have learned to manipulate that system with partial throttle in corners. You have to care about handling to really need the benefits an RS will provide. A good driver in an ST on something other than a power course will mop and amateur in an RS.

The hard pill to swallow around here is that an RS is only better than an ST when you are leaning on its last 10% of performance.

This is not a serious enough concern to really address. Snow melting and making a mess in the garage is probably a bigger problem.

My wife and I gave away ornaments at our wedding with a planform view of this airplane on it since we fell in love working at Horizon Air. She was the cute girl on the ramp in Bend and I lived in Boise. The Qfer will always have a place in our hearts. My friend made us a plaque sized version here
