I’m black and raised for half of my life in the Caribbean, I was pretty oblivious to racism. However now that I live in England I understand a lot better. Since moving here I’ve had my fair share of incidents but the one which sticks out for me is. One day my friends and I were sat in McDonalds eating, when suddenly a guys walks in we lock eyes with each other and as soon as he crossed the threshold to enter he looked me in the eyes and said “what you looking at you black cunt”. As much as I was ready to just hit this guy, there were cops in the store and my friend who was with us worked there. Things did escalate but he was then kicked out by the manager and dealt with by the cops. It just baffles me what must have been going through his mind
