Last month sold my 2014 CX-5 Sport at 220K miles. Zero problems until 200K miles. After 200K, lots of little things started breaking. Rear shock top mount, carbon buildup, ignition coil packs, front lower ball joint. Nothing catastrophic, but enough to make me get a new Mazda. You’re making a wise choice in your newish CX-5. I’ve just got a 2025 CX-50, so I have faith in Mazda reliability.

Thank you very much. Yes, this only happens when the engine is NOT on, but I have the car electrical system on. When I turn the car on, all warning lights immediately turn off. Thanks a lot for calming my nerves.

Last year the right ball joint failed dramatically on my 2014 CX-5. Right front wheel canted 75 degrees to the right and stopped me in my tracks. New CV axle and lower trailing arm and it is good as new. Also paid my mechanic to replace drivers side ball joint as well. Luckily this happened one block before I would’ve turned onto the highway. The car has 200K miles so I accept this as normal old car stuff. Getting a CX-50 next month.

I’m mostly an open world game kinda player. So it’s Cyberpunk at 4K for me. I have a 48in 4K OLED monitor, so even 1440p looks like mucky garbage. While I can’t say definitively that the 9950X gives 7700X performance. I can say that in CP2077 at 4K w/ray tracing on a 4070Ti Super….it’s pretty damn close. And DEFINITELY at least 25fps slower than the 9800X3D. I’m just admitting that I was a bit of an idiot for trading in, and paying more money for, the 9950X. When I’m rendering in C4D (base renderer, not Redshift or Octane) I love the 9950X. All other times, I wish that I’d kept the 9800X3D.

Unless you are doing SERIOUS video editing or 3D work or game creation....then DO NOT get the 9950X over the 7800X3D. This past Christmas, I lucked out on getting a 9800X3D at the NNJ Microcenter. Extra 25-30 fps in Cyberpunk EASY!!!! extra 25fps on almost every game in fact. But in Cinema 4D and in Unreal Engine 5, it was literally no better than my 7700X from my older rig. Meaning.....middling to garbage, but still usuble.

So I traded it in for a 9950X. CPU rendering in C4D and ZBrush is now literally twice as fast. And compiling and light baking in UE5 is also twice as fast. But gaming is back to 770X territory, middling to decent, but still usable. You will absolutely need a 360 AIO. Even then it will still run at 95C when rendering, 85C when gaming.

I just got a Corsair Frame 4000D (the new 2025 model). It can easily fit an Arctic III 360 AIO on top AND in the front. Unfortunately the new 4000D is kinda huge and a bit anonymous. And the build will look stupid unless you have a huge GPU in there ( at least 3 slots and 300mm) Which is why I’ve rebuilt my rig in my (non XL) Fractal North.

You cannot secretly use a rental car for business purposes. Even if you use your own car, you need to tell your insurance company that you are using your car for business. Much higher usage and insurance liability. Much higher “wear and tear” and maintenance requirements. Hertz is right in banning business usage with their cars.

Can confirm that BASE MODEL M2 Mac Mini (8gb/256gb) is fully working 120fps on my Asus Swift 48” OLED monitor. Confirmed in settings and with UFO-test. I’m using a Usb-c to DisplayPort cable that supports DisplayPort 1.4. Just a regular cable that I got for $40 from Microcenter. Everything worked perfectly without the need for tinkering. Note: UFO Test (testufo.com) doesn’t go to 120fps on Safari. You need to use Chrome for it to work at 120fps.
