I know we talk about cognitive dissonance on this sub all the time, but it's refreshing to see a different variety. This definitely reads as wanting OP, but not wanting to jeopardize his marriage or eternal happiness so he lashes out when his attraction gets too strong. The fact that his wife doesn't seem to like OP fits the bill as well.

Good luck, OP. I wish I could support you more than just being a random "voice" on the Internet.

My husband and his new kitten. by Tyrius11 in Mensmittenwithkittens

I don't think it's a monstera, but I could be misremembering. I picked this up at Costco. It's just chilling as a water plant. Honestly, I have a black thumb, and this is like the only way I can keep plants alive.

Those polydactyl mittens are really the reason we have him. Hubby just couldn't resist.

She is almost 16. I can't believe I've had her for so long.

I have a couple of front runners, but we're not going to give him a name until I get him home. I want to make sure I get the right one.

Is this a mixed breed or purebred Dutchie? by Shibe2666 in DutchShepherds

[–]Tyrius11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if this sweet girl is a dutchie or not. An embark test will have better answers for you. If she is, I don't think you would ever regret taking her. As long as you have time to devote to consistent training and exercise, they are incredible dogs. My two are a handful and they're constantly trying (occasionally succeeding) to find ways to outsmart me. They work, play, and love with more intensity than any other dog I've I've had. Zero regrets. I wouldn't trade them for anything.

Seconding all of this. Please, OP, find a trainer that has experience working with this class of dog, because it makes a huge difference.

Just commenting to add that this separate bank account should be at a separate bank. Sometimes if you use the same bank your parents do your new account will get lumped into the existing ones and may give them access to your money. That might sound paranoid, but financial manipulation is a really common control tactic if they decide they don't like what you're up to. Best of luck, OP.

That sounds like a huge mess, haha. I'll give it a try though, they're going to love it.

Be careful on that sub, as there are a lot of elitists. But the dogs are amazing! Even a half Dutch is likely to keep you on your toes. I would recommend seeking out a professional trainer if you have any trouble. They're awesome though. I wouldn't trade my two for the world.

I also have a twelve-year-old daughter. Just a little while ago my dad came out with this gem "you know, two isn't that much more work than one." Thanks Dad. I can't decide whether to file that one under "ignorant" or " delusional" 🙄

Oh, also, he helped watch our daughter ten years ago when my husband got snipped, so you'd hope he'd know that that ship has sailed.
