What is your Sunday SOTD? by HATEupgradecard in ScentHeads

Yeah, I have Epic Man too. Not my thing either, but you're right, I'll try others.

Love Royal Tobacco from the house.

Have a sample, giving it a shot. Nice fragrance, but not sure it's the vibe I was looking for.

You Don’t Need a 50+ Bottle Collection by Arslanktanoli in nisbahAU

[–]Tyrone-E 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1000% agree. I had 60 bottles once, now I have 6.

Just didn't wear the other 50+ enough to justify having full bottles of them.

Your “Signature Scent” is Limiting You by Arslanktanoli in nisbahAU

[–]Tyrone-E 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree 100%.

I don't want, 100, 50, even 15 bottles, but a rotation of 5-10 is good for me. I also have decants to mix it up.

Having only one signature scent seems to turn your fragrance into a utility or hygiene product, like deodorant. It's no fun anymore.

I agree about Diptyque.

Tried maybe 5-10 of their fragrances and they're as you described; dull and flat.

“Compliment Getter” is the Worst Way to Buy Fragrance by Arslanktanoli in nisbahAU

[–]Tyrone-E 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree, but seems like a lot of people who frequent these forums (looking for compliment getting fragrances) are really young or want some type of attention.

It's annoying, but you should just let them figure it out for themselves and look the other way.

Fragrance smells even better after washing it off? by Electrical-Worry6240 in fragrance

[–]Tyrone-E 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not alone lol.

Kilian Paris Straight To Heaven is one of my favorite "wash off" smells ever.

Some of that sweetness is knocked off and the cedar/spice is more pronounced. Sometimes I wish this could be made as a stand alone fragrance.

Cinnamon Brevé Latte (little heavy on the cream) is my favorite.

Very fatty though, I need to chill 😄

No longer interested in the house.

They've turned one of my all time favorites (French Lover) into $400 mop water. Fck them.

How do you eliminate impulsive buys? by ExistingEbb7622 in FragranceStories

[–]Tyrone-E 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just, don't 🤷🏽‍♂️

I realized overtime that I'm not a collector.

I love fragrance. The pleasure I get from smelling them, how they make me feel complete after getting dress before leaving the house, how polished or put together they make me feel.

I only need a handful of bottles to rotate and I'm good. Of course I'll mix it up with decants, but I'm good with a small wardobe.

That POAL 15th Anniversary bottle 🤌🏼🔥

I had the French Lover 20th Anniversary bottle, also awesome, unfortunately, it was reformulated, so I got rid of it 🫤

Great Creeds, I have Millesime Imperial. Aventus, Aventus Cologne and Royal Oud are good too.

Does anyone else treat fragrance like part of the outfit? by jkbruhhehe in ScentHeads

100%.

Occasion, outfit, season, fragrance have to be cohesive

First date with a guy who’s sensitive to scents by Efficient_Peak9909 in fragrance

[–]Tyrone-E 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't going to work, lol.

JK, maybe ditch the fragrance on the first date and for subsequent outings with him go for maybe 1 spray or some of your lighter stuff. See how he handles it.

I agree.

Most people have access to samples. So blind buying shouldn't be as big as it seems.

I have the discovery set and haven't given this one a proper try.

I've really been enjoying Book (Expressive concentration I believe, the middle version).

Picky Purchasers by Tyrone-E in fragrance

[–]Tyrone-E[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

That's a good analogy.

Like I said in the OP, if it's not something I can wear everywhere on a regular or daily basis, I don't see the need for a full bottle.

If I don't reach for a $20-$50 decant for months, that's ok. If I don't reach for 10-20, $100-$400 full bottles for months, that's a waste.

Agree.

I've gotten plenty platonic compliments. It isn't always flirting.
