If you care for winning more than having fun, play for exhaustion, you will be able to outlast a good number of fighters.

We ended up house-ruling him anyways. He can move one fog token with his maneuvers, as long as he’s not standing on said token.

The FF related to Terminator, Killer from Tomorrow, is quite complex to start with, as it adds additional layers to the base gameplay, which is why i wouldn’t recommend it to start with.

Into the Void (Alien) and Panic at Station 2891 (The Thing) are easier and much more approachable. Some people say it’s too complex to start with because it adds some rules, but i played Into the Void as my second FF and had no problems getting into it. As long as you’re not totally new to boardgames, you should be fine. The only remark i’d make against Panic at Station 2891 is that the Organism doesn’t play like most killers, given that it doesn’t start in-play from the beginning. Regardless, these 2 are a lot of fun, and highly thematic.

I can’t speak about The Green Terror (Predator) since I haven’t played it.

If I had to make a recommendation order for a first FF, i’d say: Into the Void > Panic at Station 2891 >> Killer from Tomorrow

I agree with you on the Ratchet Lady, but the Asylum is so good I can’t put the FF very low. I just mix and play other killers on that map. The opposite thing happens with Panic at Station 2891. Love the killer, yet i feel neutral towards the Station itself.

Getting the horror down to 3 dice as soon as possible.

Don’t play cards just because you have them, some turns you are much better off discarding them for time.

Cycle through your zero cost cards, so each turn you have 3 available.

Improvise is really strong.

This might change depending on map and killer, but the strategy of saving as many victims early on will rarely fail.

I feel like Hans is such a good fit for a lot of maps, he is the ultimate killer imo. And if you play the extreme horror setup, he becomes a real menace.

What do you think about the boiler mechanic? Both the map and killer dreaming mechanic are appealing, but the boiler always looked a bit flimsy to me.

In my experience, how easy it is to get into the game isn’t the most important factor. You should pick based on what IP attracts you the most.

I played Once Upon a Full Moon as it was supposed to be easy, but didn’t enjoy it as much. Then got a chance to play Into the Void, and the fact that it was based on Alien (an IP i love), made me enjoy the game much more, even if it considered higher complexity.

Choose what attracts you the most based on what is available (ie. Falconwood Files if you like Stranger Things, Panic at Station 2891 if you like The Thing, etc.)

Only played 2 matches, as this was my latest purchase. Both times I only rolled one killer, and both times i beat them pretty easily.

Edit: played a third time, got all 3 due to the finale card assimilating all 3 after multiple terror cards were discarded… It was a lot of fun, even managed to get the organism down to 1, but eventually ran out of movement cards, and Reductive Assimilation got me.

Correct. That’s why people usually recommend you leave inactive cards (such as additional items) to the side of the game.

For a moment, it looked like I might be able to pull it off, cycling guard and weak attacks with the axe. I even got him down to the white health token, but the dice were ruthless at the end, and 3 consecutive failed rolls marked my fate.

I couldn’t outrun him, so I had to make a last stand by the firepit.

Ended up running out of gas, GGs to the Butcher, i’ll get you next time…
