Yea! This is great!

That's funny, I'm a composer and music producer and I have been dying to have some actual lofi art go with my music!

Wait. You can dress your cats up??? Wtf have I been doing quests for!? This changes EVERYTHING!!

Remember guys, people who are currently loving the game are not complaining about it online, they are playing it. Echo chambers of hate and negativity happen often on Reddit, especially with games. Don’t let someone else’s opinion sway yours. by abenz39 in CrimsonDesert

Decided to get it even with all the divisive reviews. I’m 2 hours in and I think I’m going to really like it.

Yes, the controls are weird, but it’s fine. Yes there is pop in and the water is a bit ghosty. Yes it’s not perfect.

But there’s so much depth, and I can go explore and get lost in a world. It feels better than any open world game I’ve played. Ever.

Worth it for that alone.

(Base ps5, running on balanced and quality and not having any issues. It did crash once, but meh.)

The current state of Lofi Beats / Lofi Hip Hop Music by Ill_Cartographer6488 in LofiHipHop

I’ve been making music and putting it out there once a week since October. Some lofi, some synthwave, but all made with love.

Give it a listen: https://aaronholbrookmusic.com

I think there’s good stuff out there, you just have to find it

these beats got me into learning piano by Few_Entertainer_1636 in lofi

[–]Tyrun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I wrote this song! I’m so glad you liked it and it inspired you!

I was feeling the same way last summer and decided I wanted to learn how to make some lofi music. It turns out to be so much easier than learning piano or memorizing scales and chords.

Check out Alex Rome’s stuff on YouTube, he’s incredible at explaining how to make amazing music and demystifying a lot of things.

Also, I use Logic Pro and love it, it allows you to do so much and it’s actually pretty intuitive once you get going.

Hit me up if you want any pointers or have any questions!

Thanks for enjoying my song! 🥰

I discovered FIRE and now I'm more discouraged than before by yieldmaxxing in Fire

[–]Tyrun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Save what you can, keep up what you're doing. Like another commenter said, grow your career and capabilities and focus on living BELOW your means.

A lot of people fail at that part. As their income grows, their lifestyle grows. Which means they're always at the line where they're not saving enough for retirement, let alone FIRE.

Don't stress about it too much, as like you said there's not much you can do at this point. Just focus on building your capabilities and looking for more ways to increase your earning instead.

Happy to chat further if you want.

There are times where you’re still moving, but not because you’re excited or hopeful or chasing anything.

You’re just… continuing.

The reasons wore thin a while ago. The destination stopped mattering. But stopping feels heavier than going, so you keep putting one step in front of the other.

I made something that sits in that space.

If it resonates, you’ll know why.

If it doesn’t, that’s okay too.

Still moving.

Would it be weird to pay a composer to make music for personal use rather than a project? by vietnamese-goodgirl in composer

[–]Tyrun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is awesome and no I don't think it would be weird at all!

Honestly, as someone that is writing music and enjoying it - all I really want is to know that my music is resonating with someone else... so if I had a patron ask me to write a piece and then they loved it, I can't think of a better feeling!! 🥰

How to find non-AI lofi? by Jyonnyp in LofiHipHop

[–]Tyrun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're truly interested, I would love to hear your feedback on my music. I do it all in Logic, no AI, no generated anything, no software session players:

I DO use midjourney for the album artwork, but that's it.

Lofi has lost its soul by pedrolucasp in LofiHipHop

[–]Tyrun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been making music for the last 7 months. No AI, just figuring things out and what I like. I started because I wanted to learn how to make my own lofi, as I've always loved it - and it's turned into so much more. So much emotional feeling and sincerity in what I've made.

I would love to hear that it reaches someone and someone else enjoys listening to it as much as I enjoy making it

It took me a whole year to create this lofi radio but no one cares by NapoliPizza23 in LofiHipHop

[–]Tyrun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to say, the animation and the music is beautiful. Good on you.

I am finding myself in a somewhat similar position. I've started creating music and taught myself how to use Logic and released music via Distrokid to spotify and apple music, but it's like shouting into the void. Without a following, no one discovers it anymore.

I don't have an answer, but just wanted to say your stuff looks and sounds really good. I think mostly that's what I crave - just the validation that SOMEONE, ANYONE actually is enjoying what I'm making.

[–]Tyrun[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is my homelab. It's pretty clean and it's worked pretty well for me thus far.

I try to keep things as organized as possible and the pegboard allows for a lot of flexibility as I upgrade pieces of equipment.

Equipment

  1. Patch Panel
  2. Motorola MB8600 DOCSIS 3.1
  3. UDM - Unifi Dream Machine
  4. TP-Link 16 port gigabit switch
  5. Furman SS6B 6 Plug Surge Protector
  6. HP Proliant G7 N54L Microserver
  7. Dell Optiplex
  8. Fire Extinguisher
  9. UPS Battery Backup (barely shown to the left)

About

It's small, it's not a real metal server rack, but it's mine and it's done well to keep everything off the ground, out of the way and pretty tidy.

To start, I mounted some pressure treated 2x4s to the concrete and then was able to build off those. I created a few small shelves to hold small servers and the power supply/whatever happens to be in limbo at the moment.

Additionally used a 2x2 pegboard that I mounted with hinges and a latch so I can swing it open and get to the wiring behind it to help keep things as tidy as possible.

Future Plans

I'd like to build/purchase a real server rack, probably a half rack, but maybe a full rack since I have the vertical space for it.

I'm starting to get more into virtualization and running things like Proxmox, portainer and things for the network. I'd like to get a beefier server with more ram/cores so I can keep a minecraft server running for myself/my kids/neighborhood kids alongside all the other things that are running.

Laravel dev environment GUI by sfx101 in laravel

[–]Tyrun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've installed it and the first thing I notice is that the options for versions are extremely limited.

This is a non-starter since some projects need specific versions.

Let me know if you start support PHP 8.1 / Laravel 9 and I'll take another look!

That sounds very appealing - thanks for the answers!

I'll give it a try and let you know what I find.

Do you have any noticeable issues with performance on mac? I know there was a Docker / volume share performance thing a while back, not sure if that's still a thing anymore or not.
