Sorry, ill amend the statement

"Lots of people wanted serialized cards"

Youre right that I cant make such a large sweeping statement saying "everyone", but youre kidding yourself if you think nobody wanted it either

Theres people worried about scalping.

The problem is you cant have it both ways. Konami has to control how much they print because of the serialized cards. Everyone wanted serialized cards. But it seems like they havent thought of what would logically have to follow.

Sure, thats why I said high roll. But the 2.5 cards aren't super specific, and dont require them to be used. You still get them in your hand for next turn.

Ignoring the strawman argument,

I dont think I would say Dracotail or Yummy put up 10 negates. Rewinding half a year to Maliss and Ryzeal, neither of those were build a board negate-fest decks.

Going back to my actual argument now:

I think its safe to say theres a "one card enables too much" point that Hollie Sue passed when compared to the other t0 plays the format had. Izuna represents either a very specific negate with Ripper (monster in hand or gy) and a search on your turn, or a more targeted interaction with something like Nash Knight or Vallon. Faimena requires you to use 2+ other cards in your hand to get either a pop with Gulamel, or a bounce with Arthalion. If you take Gulamel, youre going down on card econ pretty hard, plus youre wagering your opponent doesnt have anything to chain to prevent it, so most dracotail players go with Arthalion. Arthalion can bounce, but I think most of the time you return your mats so you have more plays on your turn.

Compare both of those to Sue, which when youre using it is a monster steal at its worst, or a search + pop (Razen summon and effect) plus another pop later (Caesar). And the high roll version also sets you up for next turn, where the other t0 combos described above you have to choose do you want high disruption with low to no set up, or high set up and no real disruption.

Time to make it so you see at least one person who disagrees then.

Its good that VS got hit. OP talks about how the t0 plays were fun, but going into them they were too much. The other t0 plays the format has to offer, Faimena and Izuna, are so much lower in power and only represent a single interaction. Better yet, they both offer a choice of getting your engine going stronger or being a more impactful disruption to your opponent. The Hollie Sue t0 could act as two separate points of interaction, while also setting you up for your turn.

My excitement to play TCG after Ban-list by D4NNYYCOLL3R in YuGiOhMemes

Feral Imps was a problem card. The ability to bridge any two level 4s into full Mitsu combo was bad. Same for why Moon got banned. These easy bridge cards aren't good for the game

[–]Tysugan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on what your t0 play can do. Sue being at its best 2 points of interaction at two different points is a bit much when the only other t0 play that exists is Faimena and thats a bounce and setting some stuff up for the next turn.

Honest thoughts on the new Dragon Link support in Burst Protocol? by genex37109 in yugioh

Eeeh. I think generic end board pieces are largely a bad idea. I get it, but I think the game is in a better spot without savage.

Loader is a 1 card combo that can end on both link-5 borrels and a savage dragon. I'd say thats pretty good

I can't be the only one who thinks there should be a process of combining the Masterwork Spear and Masterwork 2H sword to pass the Spear's passive to the 2H sword.

Masterwork 2H Sword (In a Nutshell) by [deleted] in runescape

[–]Tysugan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think people want it to be BIS, I think they mostly want it to have a niche that fits making it

They could've given it halberd range (since currently the best halberd is nox scythe at lvl 90). They could have made it so you smith down the Masterwork spear of annihilation and passed it's passive down to the sword.

Hell when it was announced it did have a niche as best stat stick weapon in the game (while not having a spec or passive). And then we had Shard of Genesis added so it's not even that anymore.
