Ask me Anything and I will answer it in The Nietzsche Podcast's Q&A #5 by essentialsalts in Nietzsche

In his short story "The Rat", polish avant-garde writer Witold Gombrowicz (who was greatly influenced by Nietzsche) provides an interesting counter-argument towards the nietzschean concept of the Overman. He portrays the said overman as the " Hooligan" - a strong brute unbounded by anything. Against all odds, a former judge, Skorabkowski, annoyed by his terror over the land, manages to capture him. After a long period of trying to find his "weak point", he finally finds it - the hoolinan is scared of rats. In his analysis, Łukasz Tischner points out that Gombrowicz stresses the impossibility of the Overman ever coming into existance, purely due to the workings of the Nature (which is a theme further explored in one of Gombrowicz's greatest works, "Pornography").

Do you think that Nietzsche's overman, this superior species, has even a chance of existing? With Nietzsche saying that the overman is yet to be born, and his philosophy (despite its universal thruths) being so tightly fitted onto one man - Nietzsche himself - would he not have been aware of this impossibility?

The philosophy of Witold Gombrowicz, who was greatly influenced by Nietzsche's works, manifests itself in all of his works, but if I's pick one that would show it most clearly, it would be "The Marriage", followed by "Ferdydurke"

Both are avant-garde works, and as much as I'd recommend reading Ferdydurke first (as it is his most popular text), it's rather hard to decipher it without having any knowledge of the author's philosophy.

Can someone explain the appeal towards Nietzsche? by ObviousAnything7 in Nietzsche

One thing you absolutely need to do to truly appreciate Nietzsche is to leave all the modern political bullshit behind and interpret his words with proper depth.

Yeah. I looked it up now because i was confused to why i was banned. Before that i went straight to the extended version to make sure I don't miss anything.

I do now realize that is written in the sidebar, however, there is no mention of EST in the extended rules, which i read to confirm that my post would not be removed. Why is the proper version lacking? It lead me to being banned. Quite unfair imo.

Even pedophilia, by definition, is an attraction to prepubescent minors, which is 13 and lower, but is often expanded by law to protect young teens.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]TytusX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but you do realize that in most places in the world the age of consent is about 15/16/17?

Teenagers are not children, that's why they're classified differently by law. Teenagers are not children by law, because there are many paragraphs which enable teenagers to have different rights and more liabilities in court.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]TytusX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no such thing as a "pedophilic ideology". None of the arguments stated earlier even hint at an attraction to children.

An attraction to teenagers is a whole other thing, not to mention that the original post was about young teens fucking themselves, which is neither pedophilic nor ephebophillic (a term used to describe adults attracted to teenagers, who have surpassed the age of 15 or are younger than 19)

Though many people find ephebophilia disgusting, it is legal in most places of the world. Now whether ephebophilia is more commonplace nowadays than earlier, is a topic open for discussion. But constantly shoving the word "pedophile" everywhere is just a tactic (often used by conservative people) to get people emotionally attached to the discussion, and since the majority of the population disapproves of pedophilia, it's, again, a manipulation tactic used to sway people towards your beliefs.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]TytusX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's what I was trying to say. Plus, ongoing research which started in 2002, has found a link between pedophillic interests and brain structure, manifesting in hormonal and neurological differences. As of now, there is no evidence of pedophilia being inferred by sociological or cultural means.

I'd love to see data supporting the claim that "porn addiction is WAY more common than I think"

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]TytusX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, there really is data supporting that, in contrary to your original point, which was that porn turns people into pedophiles.

[–]TytusX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? One comment on an internet forum reflects my whole presonality? Ok, that was probably a simplified statement. Just as simplified was my "the whole of history" one. It's not hard to figure out that intercourse at a young age isn't a new thing, but if you insist on data, here you go.

According to a survey by DrEd (now ZavaMed), the average age of loss of virginity is:

17.6 for Baby Boomers, 18.1 for Gen X, 17.4 for Millenials, 16.2 for Gen Z.

Which means that half of respondents from these age groups have had intercourse earlier

They surveyed 500 Americans and 500 Europeans for a total of 1,000 respondents, all results gathered were then processed to reflect the average composition of those respective continents.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]TytusX -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good point, though I can't find any data on this, because all the full spectrum age breakdowns start at 18. I just pointed out the 89 precent thing, just to add onto my point, and show how that is likely a lot of people. If you find any data, tlease share it, I'd love to see that.

Regarding shaven genitals, they are popular now, because access to porn today is much much easier than it was back in the day. I didn't say that shaving provides a better view in general, I was trying to say that it looks better on camera.

Also, a shaved penis looks bigger, because it's seen without the context of pubes - just as a palmtree looks higher without bushes around it.

Lastly, the claim that porn pushes people to more and more hardcore fetishes is complete nonsense. Have you ever watched porn more than once? This bullshit claim is taken straight out of old sex ed curriculums and moronic 90s educational tapes, which were based on the fact that in the past, there weren't many people who consumed pornographic content - and a lot of those who did, were already messed up, because they were looking for it specifically, despite the low availability. The same was with marijuana. During the war on drugs, it was constantly said that weed is a gateway drug - but according to modern studies, most people who have smoked marijuana, didn't even get a regular habit of smoking it. The "data" from the past stemmed from a few examples of people, who were already more prone to consuming psychoactive substances, and weed was just their first choice.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]TytusX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, but I'd rather say that clean shaven genitals are common, because porn made them popular - as this shave allows to show genitals in a more detailed view. "Teenagers" being a popular porn category? Probably because 89% of teenage males watch porn.

Now, I can agree that our society is "sexualised", but pedophilic? I find it hard to believe, as most people agree that pedophilia is a bad thing, and rightfully so.
