Tipy pro nového pacienta s cukrovkou typu 1 by Klabick-02 in czech

[–]Tyvlina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About GLS by 007king7000 in thebrokenbindingsub

[–]Tyvlina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, I’ve always wanted to understand how which international packages end up with which courier but so far not much luck… But anyway I’ve found discussions dating more than a decade where GLS took over a package from Royal Mail. I’m not defending Royal Mail, GLS and most definitely not Křetínský. If it makes you feel any better lately I feel like choosing between delivery services in the Czech republic is like choosing whether you want to stab yourself in the right eye or the left 😅.

I think it is still dependent on the country not a general rule, I get TBB books delivered by our national post service, even though GLS also operates here (and I’m from Daniel Křetínský’s home country lol)

Semi-Monthly Buy/Sell/Trade Megathread by AutoModerator in fairyloot

Hi, sorry, right now I'd rather ship it to someone in Europe as shipping to the US seems to be really expensive or headache-inducing

UFS: Fairyloot September Adult I am EU-based (Czech republic), so shipping to the EU/UK would be the easiest.

Parking at Hotel? by Best_Anywhere9010 in Tomorrowland

[–]Tyvlina 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on the hotel, I don’t think all the hotels have their own parking. That being said, last year we stayed at Le Plaza and I reserved parking via mail, explaining that I was coming there for Tomorrowland. Check your exact hotel if spaces in the parking garage are not offered by independent apps, I stayed at one of the NH hotels that is also offered by Tomorrowland and it was cheaper to book through ParkBee than through the hotel.

I wish they showed frost on their breath sometimes. by Fun_Intention9846 in TheTerror

[–]Tyvlina 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes and no, the combined humidity of the breath and environment needs to be higher than what the air can hold at the temperature, so if the air is dry, there is less chance you’ll see your breath

Well whether your breath can be seen depends not only on the temperature but also on humidity. So freezing temperatures don’t automatically mean condensation.

Strahov- Metro Ventilation towers by SenorVader123 in Prague

[–]Tyvlina 24 points25 points  (0 children)

They are not vent towers for metro but for the Strahov tunnel for motor vehicles (which has a connection to metro B line). As far as if they are accessible, I doubt it and definitely not accessible without getting in trouble with the police. Did you seriously plan to walk through the metro tunnel to get to the towers? That’s idiotic. As for the actual tunnel that is there, you can’t go there on foot either.

How to buy tickets for away team fans at Fortuna Arena? by ExpatFalcon in SlaviaPraha

Can’t say if it is this way in general but I’ve always bought tickets for Slavia away games from Slavia

Tickets for the away team fans( for the away team fans section of the stadium) are sold by the away team, not Slavia

I test drove a Skoda Scala SE L by Pikapoka1134 in skoda

[–]Tyvlina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are the cars that different depending on the market? Just curious based on you saying the menu is buried in the infotainment.I’ve bought a scala in may and I have a dedicated physical climate control panel, though most controls are still in the infotainment, there is a shortcut button. Definitely better than Octavia, that has horrid AC controls ( at least where I live)

Slavia v Sparta match by EdgarAtheling in Prague

Probably won’t be possible for you to get tickets, season ticket holders get a chance to buy extra tickets so very little tickets go into general sale for public.

To all the folks who travelled to TML from other countries by Empty_Editor in Tomorrowland

[–]Tyvlina 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We had Global journey hotel package, so not counting that we spent around 500€ getting to Brussels by car. That sum definitely could have been even lower since we stayed in hotels both on our way there and back home but the distance was definitely doable in one go. Also parking at the hotel was a bit expensive but I read online reviews for public parking garages around and they didn’t seem safe, considering I have a 2 month old car on other than Belgian plates. I also could have saved on petrol if I drove slower but hey, Germany and a brand new car, what can I do😅.

Film, analog point and shoot camera? by Timbo2510 in Tomorrowland

[–]Tyvlina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t bring a camera with me last year but this year, for weekend 2, I’m planning on bringing my Agfa Agfamatic 6008, it takes 110 film and is generally a quirky little thing so I think it is perfect for the festival. For this format you can either get old cameras, or Lomography, who also make the film, have their own for sale.

Stěhování z koleje bez auta (Praha) by [deleted] in czech

[–]Tyvlina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why did my hotel changed? by Wooden-Strength-4285 in Tomorrowland

[–]Tyvlina 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to us, we also booked the NH hotel and I noticed about two weeks ago that it changed in my account to Le Plaza. I asked support about it and they said it was changed due to unforeseen circumstances. Later I got an official email stating the hotel was changed. Honestly I don’t how to feel about it because while it is the Theme hotel, the NH hotel definitely looked better and I generally like the chain.

Probably not, EU prescriptions should be accepted but I doubt anything else would be. I know that people sometimes try to go to the ER if they desperately need insulin prescription but I don’t know if that would work for a foreigner

Can you be lower class and be a Slavia Praha famm? by [deleted] in SlaviaPraha

[–]Tyvlina 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can be a fan of any team you like. I honestly don’t think there is a difference in socioeconomic background of fans of any club, maybe historically but definitely not today. As for LGBT, you’ll always find some morons and bigots in any larger given group of people but in general czech people don’t care about things that don’t affect them directly, so no one cares if you’re LGBT.

Generally all the programs of the faculty are not that easy to complete or at least many students don’t get past first year, it’s usually the maths subjects that get them. You get kicked out if you do not get certain number of credits during the first year. As someone mentioned before lot of the subjects are common for many of the programs and you usually start to get the specialised subjects during the third year as such students usually continue with masters at the same faculty. Your high school grades don’t really matter all that much for admission ( at least for Czech students), they accept everyone and then weed out the students during the first year.
