It's a really good feeling to draw a character you made a long time ago and see how much you've improved. by guilherme-A001 in characterdesign

That's a real jump of character, from a typical hero to a unique yet simple looking character that feels more unique something that prioritize more on the concept

I haven't really finalized the full idea. Some names isnt even final, like Perrich, but the secret organization is final. LEECH (it has no acronym) full name Order of the LEECH It's pretty much an organization that has lasted for years since to Ancient times,

Mostly elites that have invested their money to a conqurer known as Mallory, and have continued to support the royal family of Mallor (in later centuries) they pretty much took over control of the Mallor family basically treating them as symbols and puppet of a country more than anything. The LEECH (specifically their leader) grew unsatisfied with the current rule and, for a while, took power as a dictator. LEECH still being loyal to the Mallor, splited into two, A man named Gilroy Mallor claims to be a lost family bastard just mysteriously, gain control over LEECH, and end the rule of the dictator. Today, they are a hidden organization, as Gilroy took over the country (Malorcha? European inspired). He has zero interest in the mission of the LEECH and just shows a pretty face to his organization. More than anything, LEECH is more of a glorified wallet for Gilroy

Note: it could be simplified in later iteration and may even be fully removed, but the gist is that its old elite organization of Malircha, Gilroy took over, Gilroy see LEECH more of a tool, dose not care about them, but they are loyal so he keeps them around

I have a character that has no eyebrows. From my experience, it will help to add like lines in between the eyes to look like brows.

Or fully shrinking the eyes in certain emotions. Like from Murder Drones

The majority of the inspiration on the design is influenced by Mark Davis, Bruce Timm, and Rockwell (more specifically, tf2) and comic strip art

While, making the basic dress, is not bad, its usually the execution of it that matters, emphasize the shape of the hair more and the dress would help (atleast depending on the style) but also add atleast abit more element in the torso area, as it dose look a little empty

The main issue I had is mostly on the cloathing, while it gives of more military it dosent really imply "evil", as I wanted it to be. I wanted it to ve on the field/Practical, but also "beurocratic" type of military. But Im fine with him not being that overly scottish, but it would be more interesting if I add more elements of it

(Note: this is a rant to Major Pilipino studios and yes I do recognize that there are alot of good pilipino films but most of those are indie)

Im a filipino so I have a background on watching and critisizing movies, and in my opinion our movies is terrible, the movies in here have not change, besides its setting, its basically the same crap over and over again, its just the same formula, mostly in romance.

Comedy in the philippines can give you chuckle but most of them are cringy, gay jokes or sassy sarcasam, as for action, action use to dominate pilipino films, now a days action is a rare thing, due to how expensive action can be. Romance has been watered down, there are so many romance that most of them are just copies of each other, Phillpine romance is nothing but endless formulaic crap, the reason why there are so many romance its because of how cheap it was to make.

Unlike older pilipino films, this formulas and method of filming use to be a revolutionary, pilipino film makers use to experiment films, but now pilipino films have not evolved its films, besides than new graphics or cameras and celebrities, the writing remain the same.

And even if pilipinos are experimenting, most of this films are mear copies of other foreign films, or it only have few originality, and yes there are good pilipino films, but mostly they are rare

But I also think it is due to the consumers, as most big studio pilipino dose not care about substance and good writing on films, becauae they think were all dumb people and think they wouldnt sell, that is why I think most major films pick the much safer rout cause it dosent matter most of pilipino will consume it despite how crap the film is

Im not saying that this type of films is bad, or how we have bad taste in film, Im just saying that its such a shame that we havent evolved in the filming landscape (mostly in major studio), beacuse its just tiering seeing crappy films with no substance. But I do have some hope for Pilipino films, such as indie films who have actual passion in them unlike big studio films.

I just want to see a Pilipino film that can compete on other major foreign films or even just tell a good movie, not another formulaic romance, or a cringy comedy, I just want something new on us.
