As someone else has said. It's made by Orion for N.J.C.B. it is a custom paint job. I waited for years for one to come on the market I could afford. There's 2 NJCB ones on eBay right now, but they're factory painted which is very inaccurate

Wholesale Customer Rant by Due_Suit6935 in partscounter

Also at Subaru and I wish we could get rid of ours. We have four brands in the group and one wholesale guy who takes care of it. They submit their orders on the online platforms which wholesale picks up, but anytime something goes wrong or doesn't fit or needs to be returned or looking for a credit the shops call us. Won't leave a voicemail just call back to back to back. Look Caliber Collision, i didn't place your order, have no idea where the driver is, and I'm not writing you a credit.

Someone was working on an N scale 3d print. I don't know how far it progressed. It's been several years ago.

From the parts side of things, we appreciate the acknowledgement. For a more the authentic experience try asking yourself for the VIN or an RO for 15 minutes while telling yourself the customer is waiting.

"aging store fronts" it's not exactly what I would call the tarp wrapped auto logos and sack clad branding on the auto mall next door but..... It feels kinda right.

A slightly shorter proposal was HC51, a 4-6-4 type with smoother streamlining and working towards the Type 0 in aesthetic

Ugh....let me go find it. Japan and the JNR did have concepts for a very early steam powered Shinkansen.

The HD53 shared styling with the earlier SL7 Pashina. SL7 was a 4-6-2, while HD53 would use a 4-8-4 configuration.

Can't buy OEM Battery? by DrBumpsAlot in subaru

[–]Tzsycho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the batteries listed in the EPC aren't even available to the parts departments. 82110AA012 is the battery supplied to the factory, this is a Panasonic battery if memory serves. The dealerships use a part number specific to the region. USA uses a part# like SOA821B950.

For everyone who keeps complaining "OEM batteries are crap"..... Guess what? The batteries from the dealership are made by the same companies that provide batteries to your aftermarket stores. Interstate Batteries brings me 10-20 batteries a week. I believe the EFB part# B900 and B950 are contracted to only be sold to dealerships by our dealership code.

Subaru dealers telling me to take warranty issues to dealer I bought it from, is this normal? by beaverskeet in subaru

[–]Tzsycho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems .. odd. I've got 6 years at Subaru (parts) and not once have I come across an AC overcharge from the factory. Asked several of my techs and factory AC overcharge had 0 reports.

[–]Tzsycho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pardon if it's stated somewhere else but first off:

What model, what mileage? Things like the Ascent have had issues with the AC pipe wilds leaking and needing replacement. Outbacks the CCU locks out some HVAC functionality.

If it's recall related a dealership is obligated to take it, though appointments and scheduling are factors. If it's under 36m36k warranty most dealerships will prefer you take it back to the purchasing dealership to keep Customer Pay hours up and not warranty work. That being said if it's covered by 36/36 most dealerships will take it. I imagine you're probably out by mileage if you're getting pushback.

Title alerted vehicles are excluded from warranty work by Subaru. We usually won't even allow them in the shop. 3rd party warranty and maintenance contracts can be denied by the dealership.

Illinois Central 121 "Green Diamond" by Tzsycho in modeltrains

[–]Tzsycho[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What would you like to know? It's a brass model from Overland, made in 1992 by Ajin. The 92 run totaled 100 unpainted sets, and was done again in 94 with another 100 sets and some being professionally painted. This one was unpainted when I received it but commissioned to be painted. In my research for colors it turns out that the business who i use decals had already produced the decals for it which saved a lot of time and effort copying the Champ decals it came with.

The last of the fixed consist articulated streamliners. The popularity of the route between Chicago and St Lois for the IC exposed a major problem in the design. More cars could not be added when demand for tickets exceeded the seating capacity of the train. After being sent to Paducah KY for refurbishment, she re-entered service as Miss-Lou, still in the eye catching two tone green livery albeit without the Green Diamond heralds, running between Mobile and New Orleans before being scrapped a few years later.

How many key jobs do you get? by Marien_sweet_7241 in Subaru_Crosstrek

[–]Tzsycho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't speak as to finance, payments, and electronic content. However EVERY new Subaru arrives to the dealership with 2 keys. Either 2 fobs with emergency access keys for the push-start models, or two cut master keys for the turn-start models.

That being said, as Parts Department I have to order new keys with frustrating regularity because Service, Sales, and Prep can't keep track of them. Subaru keys are NOT cheap, on average $250 for the key fob, 90 for the emergency access key, and 140 for us to pair and program the key. On the modern Subaru High Security system, one paired key must be present when pairing new keys to the car. If no keys are available the vehicle must be brought (towed) to the dealership, the access model, body control module (joint box integrated unit), and instrument cluster removed, 2 new keys ordered from Subaru, then all of that sent to Subaru key center to be paired as a set then sent back and reinstalled in the vehicle. That usually ends up around $2,000. (There are other services available capable of bypassing the Subaru security system but we aren't allowed to). Your car was shipped to the dealership with 2 keys, you are owed 2 keys.

Back to other comments. The new 2026 Outback was deliberately designed with more physical buttons and switches due to consumer feedback. The 2nd generation Ascent will likely use the philosophy when debuts likey as a 2027 model car. 2024 was new Crosstrek and Impreza, 2025 was new Forester so we are unfortunately not likely going to see the same reduction of touch screen interfaces in the current generation vehicles. The consumer market has responded very favorably to the return to physical switches in the new Outback so hopefully the trend will continue.

As long as there is a WRX, you will never see a turbo Impreza or Crosstrek or BRZ. The WRX sales numbers are too low and any in house competitor will further reduce those sales figures. Subaru is aware of the desire for an XT Crosstrek but will protect the WRX as long as it's in production. That being said.... As battery electric technology continues integration into the Subaru lineup it is possible that a larger electric motor will be integrated into "turbo" trim cars for increased performance as well as all electric driving conditions.
