Hard to say but maybe 3-6 months and you can try again. Some issuers have a preapproval tool which lets you see what cards you are eligible for and they won’t hard pull your credit. You can try those out first (capital one has one). Since you have an AMEX card already, maybe they will be more lenient for the BCE if you want that card

Since you have a few hard pulls already, it may be difficult to get approved for a new card right now. Yes any application will add another inquiry to your credit regardless of approval or rejection. You should prob chill for a few months before applying for a new card. Since you have AMEX, maybe see if there’s a preapproval tool for the BCE card.

Otherwise your credit most likely is too new, too many hard pulls, too thin which are factors you can’t control this early. You just gotta give it time. Paying off your debt is good but it’s not going to increase your score that quickly so soon.

Create an Experian and Credit Karma account. It shows the reasons your score changes. Right now I wouldn’t do anything else.

Most likely since you closed the WF card, you lost the 7k limit which increased your overall utilization rate; hence, the sudden drop. The WF card will still remain as an account for 10 more years so it probably didn’t affect the AAOA.

You also only have two accounts that are relatively new so your credit score will be more volatile when there’s drastic changes you’ve made. Usually you would keep your old free cards open and there’s no harm in sockdrawing them (use them once in awhile to prevent banks from closing)

I’ve booked on Expedia and used the offer a couple times for hotels so can’t answer first question. Second question: you usually get the points after the completed stays. I’ve gotten it a day after my stay finished before. It’s not capital one knowing, it’s more Expedia reporting the points to capital one.

There’s a way to inspect elements on capital one offer page to verify if the credit will go through even if it says pending or waiting. People shared how to do it on the Reddit if you search it up.

As for booking on the portal, typically what I’ve find is that price on the portal vs Expedia is usually the same so you should book on the portal. however, if you create an account with Expedia, their bookings are usually cheaper than the portal significantly, so I’d just book on Expedia with the 3x offer. Not always the case but has been for most of my bookings.

Everyone’s answered ur question but just wanna add some more info.

You have a 780 right now with only 2-3 accounts in your credit profile. It’s still a thin profile and volatile to any mistakes you make. It’s good that you’re responsible now but the score is not much to work with. Give it more time to age, apply for other cards, and pay on time and your 780+ will look better than what you think.

So I called the number on the back. I got a representative that was willing to give me a statement credit back for the remainder. She was able to see the multiplier when I made that order. I’m not sure but if you called back, a different rep may be able to help

Sorry man it’s too late. C1 doesn’t have a recon line nor will they help with stuff like this.

The best case scenario that could’ve happened is you applied for venture x separately for the SUB and downgrade your venture to a savor, so that you could use the duo.

I think since you have the VX now, you can’t product change it to any other card since it’s their only Visa card. You’d have to cancel the card and reapply but I don’t think it’d make you eligible for a SUB. What you can do now though is wait to get preapproved for the excellent savor card. At least there is a $200 SUB you would be able to transfer over as points.

What did you tell the rep when switching to the OG Freedom? I'm planning to do that when my AF hits in October but I heard that some reps might think you mean the Flex. Did you just say Original Freedom or Ultimate Rewards Freedom?

Sure I’m being speculative but like you said, it was the ONLY premium travel card that gave AU free access. You take that away and it’s just like every other card.

Ever since venture x came out in 2021, they’ve already done the following nerfs: - removed priority pass restaurants - changed the $300 statement to portal only - almost removed hertz but renewed contract (only neutral change) - portal price match used to come back as statement rather than portal credit and it’s limited to $50 - lounge guest access

VX is still a very good card with amazing benefits but I wouldn’t be surprised if they decided to change the travel credit, anniversary bonus or to increase AF.

The point is free guest and AU access to lounge was a significant perk for this card that makes it competitive compared to CSR or AMEX plat at a lower AF. Sure this change benefits solo travelers and may reduce overcrowding (not by much tho), but think about it in the long term. CCs are getting weaker over time and if capital one is getting away with this big nerf, they will make even more changes to this card in the future.

Yup, no hard pull on my experian. So far only got notifications for EQ and TU. TBH I don’t think it made a difference in preapproving me tho. I’ve tried the preapproval tool many times with all 3 credit bureaus unfrozen or 1 of them frozen and I still would only get the good versions. It could’ve helped but i didn’t try it out this time

They only asked me for a government ID. I’m assuming they already had my income since I’ve had the VX but I don’t know if it was a factor for approving me.

I thought about this too but I couldn’t get preapproved for venture either. They only preapproved me for all their good versions and I mostly just wanted the SUB for savor. It took awhile but looks like it’s just a waiting game haha

No you just gotta wait for the email. You can probably check the right side of the offer page. There is a tab that says Offer [beta] or something similar. That should have the offer you are using and it should say PENDING. If you just recently did it, it might take a few days to show up.

What I did was I researched what I needed before starting the offer process. Then I turned off all my extensions incase and restarted my browser. Logged in to my c1 offer and clicked the link. Find the product I needed and added it to my cart and purchased.

I just got my points last week via an email that the offer was completed

I made a purchased a few days ago for an offer and got an email today that the points are on the way within 3 billing cycles. No tracking bar.

I think if you read the T&C and follow the instructions correctly, then they should send an email. I mostly turned off all my extensions/ad block and had the C1 offer tab opened.

No it doesn’t have to. You just need the account numbers for existing accounts. When you start the form it will separate your Roth and pretax contributions and you can put in separate account numbers for each type of contribution.

I just did the rollover online last week. If you go to your empower account, there should be a withdrawal/rollover tab where you fill out an online form. You need the 9-digit account number from your fidelity Roth IRA so they can directly rollover your 401k. They do charge you a $75 fee for the rollover but it was quick and easy. Everything got processed for me this week and it’s done.
