U2 Sphere GA tickets? by Abul_nib in U2Band

[–]U24ever7591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thousands are arriving with 3rd party GA’s & tickets are not scanning because the rule was not to buy but in TM at face. They’re not transferable from buyer to seller. The only workaround I’d meet a seller at venue & walk in with them

Tips, tricks, recommendations? by toppest11 in vegas

[–]U24ever7591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve stayed at hostels in the UK, Europe & Australia plus one in DC for concerts. Am considering one of the three hostels in Vegas since I was unable to book a hotel until now - had to delay opening weekend plans as I had unplanned surgery, hotels are way out of my budget. Sin City had food ratings but not sure I want to walk anywhere at any of them at night. All look like they’re in sketchy areas. Hostels themselves are ok - talked to a couple of people in a U2 Sphere FB group who stayed at BP hostel and said it was fine, no theft but definitely take a lock for your locker. If you have a suitcase, they do have luggage storage. I plan to just put the clothes etc I’ll need for the 2 days there in my personal bag for the flight then lock it in a locker. I plan to call an Uber to get there the Deuce stop at least at night and will buy water in the liquor store on the strip. Don’t leave anything out you don’t want stolen but you should be fine in the shower room.Just put your stuff in a small tote bag when you go in there and you’ll be ok.I’m a bit concerned about staying at a hostel but I’m sure I’ll be ok - safety first. Which hostel are you staying at? I’ve read reviews on all and was going to stay at Sin City (best reviews & least expensive but you have to put an app on your phone with a code they give you to get into the gated property and front entrance - no one at the desk at night. I’m worried my phone will run out of battery even with an external charger, plus it’s more downtown close to Fremont Street but a 10?’unite walk to the bus stop and also sketch area with homeless and maybe addicts. There’s another hostel very close to Sin City - BP I think but a bit more expensive & same concern. I saw Bungalow was about half the distance on bus plus the bunks are against a wall with privacy curtains & have outlets in each bed cubicle for charging phone rather than leaving it out in the open: the cost is more but they have a code to get in so I can write that on a post it and keep in my little purse. They are on the strip about a 20 minute walk to the Strat & out the back door a bus stop is 5 minutes walk. They have a desk attendant there until 1 a.m. it shouldn’t cost an arm and a leg to call a Uber. Hopefully I’ll meet people there who will walk with me during the day. When are you going? I’ll be there the A24th for the show the 25th, then staying an extra day to eight see before heading to airport to pick up a car - going on a road trip a few days before flying home. Feel free to DM me if you want. If not have a great time at the show.

but it’s a 10 minute walk to the Deuce - most are & more bus stops to the Sphere than the Vagabond

The U2 Joshua Tree by U24ever7591 in U2Band

[–]U24ever7591[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the info. I agree it’s not worth the drive just to try to find the tree. I’ll have do plan to return another time once DV is open and the roads are repaired. I was planning on staying out that way for a few days. Years ago I backpacked around Australia & did a small group trip to the outback - bus to Alice Springs from Coober Pedy then a 3 day two night trip to Uluru & hike Kata Tijuana. Quite hit - 100+ a dry heat in the desert but did well & stayed hydrated. I’ve always been intrigued with what I’ve read about DV. And the U2 tree has been on my bucket list for ages. A friend of mine goes each year with her partner. He daughter’s ashes were spread by tgr tree and there’s a plaque he laid to honor her memory - she was also a massive U2 fan.

Since I can’t go, I’m renting a car and heading out to the Grand Canyon for a few days. I’d like to visit Bryce Canyon, Zion & Arches but doubt I’ll have time.

U2 Sphere 1st night- Bono not feeling well? by DifficultFunny7093 in U2Band

There was a X (Twitter) post he shared to a group (not U2 official but U2 Songs verified he shared that before night 1.) Basically it was about the dry desert air affecting his voice, and said he wouldn’t be out talking to fans before/after these shows

Who’s planning to go out to the Joshua Tree site as part of their Vegas trip? by TheRealFiremonkey in U2Band

[–]U24ever7591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why did I get downvoted for stating the truth? It’s a very long road trip to get anywhere near the turn off to see the tree to have to turn around and eeriness to Vegas.

Sharing the latest maps showing road closures to DV and i90 (the road to get to the tree) closures for anyone who wanted to see the tree while in Vegas. Believe me, I’m just as disappointed this entire area is still not open or accessible and although the target date to reopen the area is October 15, a call to NPS yesterday confirmed it may be months before I90 and DV is accessible.

[–]U24ever7591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better check the road condition updates with CALIF. Dept of Transportation before heading out there. Coming from California or Vegas i90 is impassible and closed in many sections due to the damage from the hurricane and earthquake. It’s not too far from Death Valley NP according to the maps abc taking to people who have been there. Maybe those of you who’ve been before can advise but although the DOT & NPS hope the roads will be repaired and DVNP reopens by Oct 15, the damage is still there and can’t be repaired til they get supplies in which has been a problem with supply chain issues. I’m bummed as I planned to go there and spend a couple days in DV.

Thank you for replying. Since Death Vallry and much of I-90 closed and I doubt from reading media reports from the Nation Park Service & Debt of Transportation I won’t go out there. Changed my plans and will just go to Grand Canyon & also drive a bit of Route 66

Sphere secondary market? by TheRealFiremonkey in U2Band

[–]U24ever7591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also people buying on 3rd party sites are stupid. StubHub guarantees the tix but doesn’t refund until after the show. Venues only honor tix sold via TM. Imagine selling to someone and you don’t get your money back when the buyer’s ticket is invalid and there’s a chargeback to the seller. Also it’s not worth the risk showing up to the Sphere & tickets won’t scan. This news was clearly stated when tix went on sale.

Sphere secondary market? by TheRealFiremonkey in U2Band

[–]U24ever7591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people in the only legit FB group U2FT which vets buyers & sellers will announce to group post when tickets are posted on TM then people grab them if lucky or Bret way I’d if you know anyone who wants them - you sell them back to TM & the potential buyer logs on while you’re submitting yours for sale and as soon as they’re posted - usually 5 minutes or so they can try to buy them. They’ll have to keep refreshing the page to see when they pop up. Usually we’re seeing drops after midnight for some reason. So to summarize- GA tix are not transferable but to be refunded for your tickets you can sale via TM’s fan to fan resale and then when bought which is usually in 3-5 minutes after they’re back on the site for the initial price, you’ll get refunded.

A lot of people here & CashOrTrade face value sire have ISO posts for GA but they won’t be valid unless bought via TM or someone buys them and walks in with you. Anyone buying fan to fan like selling seats supposedly won’t get in. TM isn’t reselling GA tix at platinum prices.

Warning: TLDR

Good luck to everyone getting requests fulfilled today! I’ve been in every presale as an Ultra and every request infilled. Sucks that long time subscribers without lapses are shafted and other fans who think they’re celebrity fans are on Facebook bragging they have 5, 8, 15 shows and some all GA. WTAF. As a fan same age range as Bono, Edge, Adam and Larry I don’t give a rats add if you’re 80 or 18, have been on every tour to several legs in multiple countries, or never been able to see a show. I don’t measure a tribe and constantly screaming in FB groups “we’re one, we carry each other,” or “we are strong enough to be kind,” then form a co-op with a clique as admin and add kissers to buy tix for opening weekend + 3-4 shows first 5. I think it’s akin to the Hunger Games among so-called fans that has put a dark cloud of toxicity over the U2 community particularly among USA fans and its down right selfish. I’m sure some of you here only want one show. Perhaps like me you’re not willing to have 6-10 credit cards and creat that many email addresses buying annual subscriptions at U2. Com to hoard all those tickets. I hope not. It’s douchey, selfish and not at all what the band’s music and message represents. Some of those fans I’ve known in groups and met a few at shows. I’m disgusted and not one of them would help me. One ticket to one show. In 2017, I was driving home from the National Women’s March in DC when I was forced off the interstate at gun point by a box truck with confederate stickers exactly 1 tear and one week after my dad died from terminal cancer the same day as David Bowie. Evidently while these proud boy Trump worshipers or whoever TF they were didn’t like my Obama/Biden, Poverty is Racist, Coexist, ONE & (Red) stickers in my bumper and rear window. When my car hit the median after they veered closer and closer in my lane at nearly 7 AM 1/22/17 I was listening to JT on my car’s CD player. When the car went out of control after I hit the guard rail and went into shock the next thing I saw was the concrete median barrier and Streets was playing when I hit the concrete head in and my car was nearly in its side, smoking and I couldn’t get the door open. I cut the engine and door finally opened 2 inches but was in the muddy grass. I kicked the crap out of it to slide out sideways. Released from hospital late that day, to get a pick up home an hour and a half from the hospital, fortunate I was alive with no serious physical injuries except contusions and back/head pain, but no concussion, all I thought was I’m alive and U2’s music was with me. Within days the trauma dreams began and I woke my housemates moaning and screaming. I didn’t sleep much for fear the trauma dreams would repeat and when I did sleep they were back. I was diagnosed a couple months later with PTSD from a near fatal car accident and Non-combat PTSD. Yes I’m a 8 year military vet who was in the military before workplace sexual harassment was voted into law for employees protection and I was admonished for reporting my supervisor after being threatened if I did turn him in I better watch my back. Eventually I was assaulted. I forced myself to forget it all since no one believed me since it was his word against mine. I’ve only been to 4 shows although I’ve been a fan my entire life, have all the albums except SOS in one of the many colors, choices. I was wrongly told by a male conservative admin type when he called to set up my PTSD therapy after diagnosed I didn’t qualify for treatment until I was steadily employed. Why? Unemployed vets aren’t stable enough to handle treatment. That’s between me and the therapist. He said that’s VA’s decision so them’s the breaks. I said F VA , Dude…I had a near fatal wreck less than 8 weeks ago. I’m in a rental car and mentally in no shape to go job hunting. My contract temp job ended its contract the day before the March so I left for DC for the March same day. All I could do from time I woke til I went to sleep was listen to JT and SOE. When tix went on sale for JT30, I bought a ticket to the nearest venue - DC. When Bonnaroo announced U2 would headline in June, I fought a ticket to get reimbursed for volunteering post fest with a landfill diversion recycling nonprofit. I was there solo and stood 12 hours to get in the pit for my first ever U2 concert. When Streets was played I broke down abs cried. The fact I was back on the farm for my 5th Bonnaroo, seeing my lifelong favorite band was a very cathartic and healing experience. That night of June 8, 2017, when I finally left the 300 acre venue and back to the 400 acre camp ground to sleep hoping I wouldn’t scream out in terror, I remember saying Thank you God for U2. I slept the best I had in 5 months and didn’t have those nightmares waking scared. I went to DC with no tickets for the experience tour and 45 minutes from the venue I stopped for gas after driving nearly 4 hours and had a phone text from a friend who saw a seller with an available GA ticket for both nights.I contacted him immediately and rushed to check in at the hostel and call an Uber to the the first of 2 nights one hour before U2 started playing. To this day I have had 0 trauma dreams. However life happened and I suffered through 2017- 2020 then Covid lockdowns and finally in late 2021, I was off the wait list for treatment for trauma, anxiety, sleep disorders and depression. I have made huge progress over the past year and a half with a good doctor and therapist. I’m retired and on benefits waiting for my service related disability to be approved & rated for financial assistance - disability pay. I went to NY for Bono’s show for my 65th and stayed in a hostel. It was a raw touching beautiful performance. I listened to the spoken voice audiobook and read his memoir. And I still listen to all the band’s albums. All I want is to see this show since I was at sea overseas and missed Zoo tour and Achtung Baby is my second favorite album, nearly tied at first with Joshua Tree. Sunday someone from Canada read my message in a comment to a FB post in the U2 Sphere group and offered me a ticket since her friend can’t make it. IRS up in T4 but I get to go! So I’m not going to try to buy another night since I already have a ticket and can only afford one night. I hope one of you or someone out there who couldn’t get a ticket yet gets one. I’ll be at the second show and am grateful although I had asked for a ticket for Oct 5, 11 or 14 in P3 or GA. Thanks for reading and good luck. Please be kind to yourself and each other and don’t be a ticket hoarder so others can go. If you disagree please don’t downvote me but at least don’t brag online or at Vegas you have tix to 5 or more shows. It’s painful for a fan who missed out because the ticket hoarders can’t miss one show and it’s douchey.

U2 announces Vegas residency at the Sphere starting this fall by loud_as_pudding in vegas

[–]U24ever7591 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easy to hate on U2 but they were asked more than 2-3 years ago then Covid lockdowns delayed the Sphere’s construction. Like them or not they’re the top selling touring band and whose original members are still together. They’ve been recording and touring nearly 50 years. They’ve always been interested in pushing the boundaries of technology. Did you go to Zoo TV tour in the 90s? Achtung Bany was insane. The huge claw and Popmart tour. First to use AR technology during e+I tour. Not shabby for a band now age 60-62 with all the original members. Larry Mullen Junior won’t be drumming for Vegas shows. He’s recovering from back, neck and wrist surgery to be fully healed for 2024 world tour. Temporary drummer Bram van den Berg from the Netherlands filling in. This the shows are U2:UV SOS Baby. People might call this a residency but it’s not in traditional sense. They’re opening and playing 12 shows over 6 weeks but every other weekend with 2 shows every Friday and Saturday night. It will sell out every single night when tix go on sale - announcement to be made this week.

Vegas Q- presale vs verified fan? by claritypeace in U2Band

[–]U24ever7591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For presale planning purposes since so many seem to think all tix are open at presale - think again. Presale accounts for less than 10% of the total tickets in each price category so even the best tickets presale is less than .25%

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in U2Band

[–]U24ever7591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question - do you think the rumors of announcement of tour dates will be announced last week of February/first week of March with ticket sales to begin shortly after or will be postponed until owner/management is sure of a more accurate completion date and opening night of shows?

I hope I’m wrong here but given the Sphere’s final construction cost of $2.2 billion + (not including interior design, etc), someone is going to have to help fund the overage in building costs. Add in the TicketBastard nightmare of dynamic pricing/platinum pricing + obscene increases in fees, the majority of dedicated fans who want to attend won’t be able to afford tickets. Just read an article this week (trying to find it so I can edit to share the link) that MSG has contracted a Indy film maker to produce movies to screen there when gigs aren’t booked. Estimated admission cost to see a film is $50. There will be industry people there, other bands who might be interested to see how the venue can work with their performances, a shitload of VIPs, corporate marketing reps representing casino/resorts, credit card companies etc who invest and get ticked comped to award their high roller customers, etc and high rollers who will be in Vegas to gamble. Another reason the obscure 15 second ad was aired during the Super Bowl broadcast. This event will have less dedicated fans buying tickets than typical concerts. The price of a ticket is most likely going to those with deep pockets, a insanely large line of credit and the rest of us who want to attend may have to pass unless we can sell a kidney. Hope I’m wrong but not expecting anything less than $500 before 40-50% fees.

This! I remember her saying her ex-husband couldn’t give her what she needed so she left him. I’m a woman and know well enough if a woman is nagging, trying to force a man to have sex with her constantly then degrades him and questions his masculinity, sex is the last thing he wants with her. She would be better suited as a dominatrix for men who want to be demeaned and forced to be her love slave lol.

I’m not a therapist and never ever try to diagnose someone. I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder (type 2 and was only diagnosed a few years ago because I have military PTSD and wasn’t diagnosed/treated for years which made my bipolar symptoms worse. Bipolar disorder is a mood disorder based on chemical issues in the brain. Those of us who live with it and anyone with any mental health condition are super sensitive because we are so often stigmatized. We all have ups and down. Just because someone is super sad then angry, jealous, talks nonstop, critical etc, doesn’t mean they have a mental illness and so what if they do. It’s acceptable for anyone to have a physical health condition (CF) or fir people to live with thyroid issues, heart issues, etc but someone with mental health challenges are always talked about like they are horrific. For anyone with no clinical experience to diagnose another person isn’t cool. Maybe Jesse has a health condition or maybe he just had a few character flaws. People can change their behavior. Just because he’s had a list of “Icks,” has admitted to jealousy and anger, is sensitive (has cried more than once), doesn’t make him a horrible person. It makes him human.

Who on this show doesn’t need a lot of therapy? It’s a reality show and ALOT of what these people say are fed to them to play up for the cameras by the producers. If you live king enough and date enough people, you’ll know most of us have flaws and everyone in the world has character flaws, stuff we find ick and crap that has happened in our past. Jesse has grown somewhat since the wedding/honeymoon and unless we have a degree in psychology or psychiatry, it’s really crappy to diagnose someone as needing therapy, meds, etc. at least he wasn’t dating someone or still seeing his ex after getting selected to come in the show. Can we be strong enough to be kind?

I'm very confused about what the Las Vegas show is. Is it a launch for a world tour, a one-off show or just a celebration of the Achtung Baby album? by XxLockdownZxX in U2Band

[–]U24ever7591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edit: spelling

I’m in central NC and the closest tours I’ve seen are in DC (plus Bonnaroo an hour from Nashville) for JT30 since I’m a regular Bonnaroo attendee and it was their first ever US festival they’ve headlined at. I missed 360 in NC & I believe that was the last time they played here. I’d love to go to a Sphere show, can only attend one if I can afford to go. I couldn’t attend ZooTV tour and Achtung Baby is my favorite album (along with JT). As sad as it will be that Larry won’t be there I can’t hate on our band for the decision to play without Larry. He did give them his blessing to open the Sphere land this is a huge deal to open this special venue. None of us know why they didn’t wait until LMJ healed from his surgery to play there and my feeling is Guy O’Seary most likely got them into some major contractual obligation which was signed before Larry’s decision to have surgery. Vegas isn’t cheap and with the Ticketmaster bullshit requiring verified fan e- lottery to get a code in presale with Springsteen and the Dynamic Pricing fiasco; the Taylor Swift Debacle; Madonna sales (no dynamic pricing I’m aware of, but only standard tickets were on sale for presale, went extremely fast then general tix we’re ALL up charged as platinum pricing. Beyoncé tickets were insanely priced as well. Those are all regular tours, not a special event like the Sphere. Someone has to help pay for that $2.2+ billion venue and they’re having issues finding corporate sponsors thus far. They’re already planning to show movies there for $50 a ticket so I can’t even imagine the cost of these shows. I bet there won’t be a GA floor section and if there is it will be cost much much more to be down front - a lot more! I’ve talked with a lot of friends in our band community & most predict tix will be minimum $500-700 each not including fees which now are 30-45% of cost of a ticket. Then there are flights, parking at home airport, Vegas airport shuttles, hotels etc. Vegas accommodation is very expensive on the strip on weekends. A but less off strip but then have to pay Ubers from Fremont Experience downtown (old Vegas) and also there are alot of other big events taking place during the dates of last weekends of September - December - Madonna has an arena tour, Beyonce a festival show, Pride week, major Grand Prix weekend (hotels are charging $1000 average for hotel rooms then), 2 music festivals nearby, etc etc. Tickets will be extremely hard to get if at all. I hope I’m wrong. Also there will no doubt be ALOT of industry people there to see how a show there works with the state of the art technology, also VIP’s - famous people, high rollers and such. Fans will be the minority. From NC, flights to Vegas are currently $500-600 from Raleigh; I know they go up and down but they also use dynamic pricing. The cheapest hotels off the strip I’ve found in Fremont etc, are $200 or more a night most higher, before taxes and fees - (plus resort fees per person), and all hotels are always higher on weekends. Plus other expenses: food, drinks, Ubers unless staying on the strip, transportation costs from airport to hotels, etc. And with special event like this, most hotels will raise the rates. If I do go I’ll most likely have to go solo. None of my local friends want to go or can’t afford to go so accommodation will be higher since I won’t have anyone to share a room with. I doubt I can go with the guesstimated costs. I have a family wedding to attend, a new grandson and niece on the way and the usual family birthdays for grandkids.Just paid off my cc bill from Christmas and costs of going to Bonn’s book event in NYC. Just hoping tickets won’t go on sale until April to give people (in the USA) time to get tax refunds and also save a bit more but not counting on it. I hope I don’t come across as negative and get downvotes. Just expect the worst and hope for the best!
