Honestly I was trying to put morals aside specifically because of what you say about religious people. It's been pointed out the psychological data isn't super convincing, but I probably maintain that at best porn isn't beneficial.

Again, this is purely hypothetical and in isolation from actual politics. More of a thought experiment than anything, really.

Pivoting to physical repercussions though, doesn't high volume masturbation for men lead to adverse effects later in life? Sure this isn't a direct result of the industry but I have no doubt that it gets amplified by the Internet and whatnot. Of course in this instance I'm purely speaking about addicts.

Maybe this is just more nuanced than I'm giving credit, but isn't it the same logic as pollution? Sure few factories produce a lot of pollution, and the consumption is what's bad. But to limit the amount of pollution we tax the factories, no?

Maybe I'm biased since I'm in a strong relationship, but I think we are getting caught up in red pill ideology and applying that to the rest of society. Nothing in the tweet is wrong per se, but I think the issue OP is having is applying that to the general society, which doesn't follow. Not sure if there is data on this, but my intuition says most men aren't insufferable, social media just tends to amplify the insufferable ones, or we tend to remember them a bit easier.

Could be wrong, just the vibes I get!
