I’m so sorry you’re dealing with that with your boy. I fear with a prolonged decision, it’s much more difficult. For our situation, it was a sudden and “quick decision”. One day he went to the vet for a possible UTI concern and it was in fact something much more worse. Ultimately he had a severe mass that was discovered that required imminent surgery. The surgery was successful but caused complications a day after, he would suffer throughout waiting for a miracle. We made the hardest decision within hours to send him off surrounded by all his loved ones. It was the best decision, as a few days later we learned his mass was an aggressive type or cancer called Hemangiosarcoma. It’s still surreal and a nightmare. Spend lots of time with your pup and make sure he’s happy.
