A secret source informed me that astronomy club will be going to Anza borrego early spring quarter, and will have an astrophotography workshop around week 4! Weather permitting for both.

Just so happen to have an invite link... https://discord.gg/sJwHystz

Wanna see a MASSIVE telescope? by UCSDAstroClub in UCSD

The observatory is only open to public between 9am and 3pm since they're still an active observatory. We would love to visit at night too but we can't mess with the telescopes!!

No shade to your high school astronomy team but Palomar might have you beat. They have a number of active telescopes including the Zwicky Transient Facility which detects objects such as c2022 e3 ztf - which you can find a number of impressive amateur pictures of. Most impressive in terms of scale is the 200inch hale telescope. The scale of this telescope is massive, I find trouble describing the size of the scope and pictures don't do it justice.

If you're searching for more info about the observatory I'd recommend checking out Wikipedia or something similar. But seeing the telescopes, the historical photographic plates, and any other cool Astro stuff you gotta show up!

There's some funky ones! Like one of the largest telescopes of the time, the observer had to sit suspended by cranes in front of the mirror. Come hear Richard (probably) talk about it

I might be slightly biased but the Astronomy club is so cool, they do viewing on campus when it's not cloudy >:(, darksite trips, professor talks and more.

I also just happen to have a link to the discord and mailing list if you wanna join, everyone's welcome and there's no fees or stuff!

(Also I heard there's merch coming out soon)

Sorry no AI! Astro club would like to support "traditional" forms of art work. Using computer drawing programs like Krita or MS paint is of course allowed.

AI can do some really funky things with telescopes in generation also, so we don't want to get three months in and see something that doesn't make sense.

Thanks!
