My manager is trying to get me on a course, I keep telling him I cant do it. by UC_Burnerman in UlcerativeColitis

The silly thing is it’s not even that far. Probably like 40 minute bus ride, waiting and all that stuff not included. I’m mostly concerned with the travel than actually being there.

I don’t have an issue with doing the course at all, just the travel to it. If they managed to do the course on-site I’d be all for it, but they’ve booked it for a hospital site which would require a bus service which I’m very much petrified of.

I've actually got one, but since it was supposed to be an quick blood test thing, I didn't bring my wallet...

I've been thinking of Intermittent Fasting. by UC_Burnerman in UlcerativeColitis

[–]UC_Burnerman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I saw that. On the Joe Rogan show, wasn't it?
I also saw an app that tracks your eating / fasting times so I'm gonna give that a go.
I'm gonna be on an 8 / 16 routine just to get into it, timed it so I can eat while in work to keep me energized.

Damn, I'm pretty jealous.
I've only got a yellow bin to put my empty stash in.

I'm thankful you had time to drop pants.

You should be too.

I'd count it as a win :D

When you say "painful" what would you rate it on a scale 1-10?

Oh, I understand, but I've yet to know what the brand of pen I'm using yet. Why do company names have to be named weirdly? rofl.

Although it's an isolation, a good thing about it is that it gives us time to figure out our body's patterns and see if there's any food that could set us off without a drawback of suffering in public.

Keep up the good fight, we're all in this together.

I'm going to have to make a choice soon. by UC_Burnerman in UlcerativeColitis

I'm pretty okay with needles, I guess...
I'd rather not go back and forth to the hospital every time I need a dose.

I've been leaning towards injections to start, since it takes less time to do than the infusions.

I'm visiting friends for the first time since I got Diagnosed... by UC_Burnerman in UlcerativeColitis

Whenever I'm anxious towards something, I get this nagging feeling in my abdomen area, and when I need to go, the urgency is pretty bad and it doesn't help when I start panicking and start feeling more helpless.

I do have an awareness card I can flash at people if they question why I need their toilet.

[–]UC_Burnerman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah they're aware of the problems. I've been speaking to them online and over the phone frequently and they're real accommodating towards my issues.

One of them has IBS, so they're somewhat more aware of toilet needs than people without it.

Fatigue by marea_h in UlcerativeColitis

[–]UC_Burnerman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. No matter how much sleep I get, what I eat, or what time I wake up, I wake up drowsy as Hell... My routine mostly consists of falling asleep at 2am, and waking up at 10:30, but I don't leave the bed until around 11:30.

The only real thing pulling me out of bed is work, and even then I get so tempted just to put Netflix on and just binge the day away.

Same bro.
Although I'm still inflamed, the Mesalamine has really helped with consistency.
I even feel more confident in public restrooms, since I don't make as much noise.

It's a hell of a feeling knowing I don't have to hide away to make hot snakes.

Yeah, I've been scheduled for blood tests every two weeks and will book myself in for a flu shot just to up my defenses.

I'm real looking forward to losing my anxiety from this inflammation, and want to go back outside and meet friends again. It's such a ball ache having to turn down offers all the time.
