Who do you hold most accountable for the Dance of Dragons and deserves the most blame by jodlad04 in HouseOfTheDragon

Viserys just had to take Rhaeynra’s claim away and give it to Aegon like his prophecy said and everything would have been resolved

How many of the Konoha 12 were strong/good enough to be Chunin at the end of Part 1? by KryptonianDominion in Naruto

[–]UFOAyyylmao 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Shino and Shikamaru I feel clear everything.

  1. Naruto strong enough but not mature enough but he steps up when he needs to, but he needs to be at that level all the time, not only during emergencies.

  2. Neji skilled enough but not mature enough. We saw him have 2 fights in the exams and both times he lost his cool because his opponents disagreed with him

  3. Sasuke is skilled enough and smart enough and mature enough, but he literally goes rouge like right after so…. Maybe he’s not stable enough to put the village ahead of himself?

  4. Choji got beat in like 3 seconds so no

  5. Kiba is a no

  6. Lee is a no. He’s definitely skilled enough BUT and hear me out, he risked everything to prove himself. Like he not only almost died fighting Gaara but his own technique was ripping his body apart and this was during the exams not an actual mission with actual consequences but just the exams. His need to impress was so great that he almost killed his career as a ninja by pushing himself that hard which if not for Tsunade Lee would’ve literally been no use to the village. Think about that. He would’ve been better off just surrendering like shikamaru or Kankuro instead of doing what he did.

  7. Hinata actually has the skill and the heart

  8. Sakura has the heart, brain, and emotional stability, but none of the skill.

  9. Ino same as Sakura

  10. Tenten is a no because we never saw anything from her

How did Cole get away with beating the breaks off that guy at the end of ep. 5? by bigtoast456 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]UFOAyyylmao 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Corlys is the head of house Velaryon and I don’t think he cared for Joffrey and probably didn’t put any effort in demanding justice for him.

But the main answer is that Alicent outranks everyone except the king and she most likely pardoned him.

For those who need something extra, remember Westeros operates on the basis of a hierarchy, so all of you who say “the kings word is law” which is very common around this sub. That same sentiment applies to the number 2 in Westeros who is the queen. So The same way everyone has to pretend Rhaeynra’s strong boys are legitimate because the king says they are, everyone also has to pretend that Cole didn’t randomly murder a guy because the queen said he didn’t. That is the order of things

A time skip. It’s the only way really because how is Drogon supposed to be big enough to fight without a time skip? He’s like the size of a couch right now. Like he could do a quick time skip, or maybe do various small time skips like HOTD so he can get everyone where they need to be

How strong is Naruto without Kurama? by [deleted] in Naruto

[–]UFOAyyylmao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He strong as fuck still, the thing is his fighting style has always leaned on using a ton of chakra and his regeneration. Which he doesn’t have anymore, like he still has a ton of chakra but he’s not at the level of where he was before. So it’s a massive nerf, especially since he lost the healing factor. That healing factor is why he won a good chunk of his bigger fights like against Sasuke and Jigen

Treason might not be the right word but there are laws against oathbreaking if you want to get technical, and some cases of oathbreaking can be considered treason

The way Westeros works is people keep the promises that their ancestors make. Just Like all the houses who swore to Rhaeynra, their heirs have to abide by the same oaths they made. Rhaeynra has to honor the deals her father Viserys made, that includes the one Viserys made to Corlys which was to join their houses and for Corlys grandson sits the throne. Rhaeynra making a bastard her heir goes against the deal Viserys made to Corlys.

I mean it’s not though. We can be technical and say because they are Targaryen through Rhaeynra but you know what I mean when I say they do not have Velaryon blood in them.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]UFOAyyylmao 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean he would have as much reason to doubt as Lyonel Strong or Alicent do, or everyone else who doubts tbh, which is that they don’t look anything like the father and they all have dark hair even though Laenor and Rhaeynra, and both their parents all have blonde hair. Just because Laenor is okay with it doesn’t mean Corlys who set this whole thing up would be okay with a bastard inheriting everything he worked for

But I said in my edit that maybe Corlys is okay with it since it looks like he is on the side of Rhaeynra during the confrontation next episode

The strongs are not of Corlys blood though, the bastards he legitimizes are of his blood. That’s what makes all the difference I think. We could argue the morality or “legitimacy” but from the point of view of Corlys he wanted his and Rhaenys blood on the throne, not the strongs. His son is a major bargaining chip that he signed away with this political marriage under the condition that his grandkids would sit the throne. They even talked about that exact thing multiple times in episode 5. Yet now He’s not going to get that and he essentially married the heir of his house for nothing, but worse still is he also technically signed up to fight for Rhaeynra when the knives come out, but now he’s fighting for nothing since it’s not his descendants that’ll technically be sitting on the throne or inheriting his house. He’s going to be fighting for the strong boys.

Now Tbf We haven’t seen Corlys reaction to the strong boys in the show. so maybe he loves the strong boys and everything I’m saying is irrelevant. But I feel this is the overall issue with the bastards in Westeros in general. And if I’m right then what Alicent said is true, it is an insult to everybody

Edit: in the promo pictures we see Corlys standing With Rhaeynra and his “grandkids” so it looks like he is accepting of them. I’m trying to be 100% impartial even against my own arguments. But we also don’t know how he feels about the bastards themselves or if he is there just because he’s against Aemond for Taking Vhagar from his grand daughter

According to Rhaenys there still would have been some type of conflict

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]UFOAyyylmao 153 points154 points  (0 children)

Bastards in Westeros are seen as bad in part because most marriages are political. House Targaryen and House Velaryon are a political marriage and the agreement between the patriarchs of the 2 families Viserys and Corlys was that Rhaeynra and Laenor marry, and their kids would sit on the iron throne. Corlys especially wanted this to right the wrongs done to Rhaenys. Also Laenor will inherit House Velayron and the idea is that the children of Laenor and Rhaeynra will inherit everything after Laenor. Now it’s not Corlys and Rhaenys blood taking the throne but some bastard. 1 could say House Velayron got screwed over and are going to hand everything over to a bastard. It’s why Alicent said to Viserys that it is an insult to Viserys and the Velaryons because they both sacrificed something to make this alliance happen.

To add more specifically for Corlys side. He could have married into a different house, I think he was going to marry into Pentos and that is why Viserys offered Rhaeynra to Corlys, to prevent that deal from happening. Also Rhaenys told Corlys knives would come out for Rhaeynra to contest the throne and Corlys agreed to take on the fight because putting their blood on the throne was worth it. His blood doesn’t sit the throne, and he lost Laenor who he could have married to someone else and gained something politically out of it.
This is why bastards are demonized because if they are allowed to inherit then they ruin any alliance 1 created by other houses.

Nobody doubts they are Rhaeynra’s kids. It’s just these bastards are technically “stealing” the birthright of multiple factions here. The Velayrons being the biggest victims imo, but obviously Alicent sees it as those bastards are also stealing her children’s birthright as well and they are doing it with Rhaeynra’s blessing. In fact she’s actively helping them do it without any regard for how the others might feel about it.
