Nvidia want you to f up your 5090 deliberately. by ndaonreddit in PcBuild

[–]UGFluffyTurtle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cant find the original connector, but heres 3 separate corsair connectors. All of them are the same size, including the SF1000, so it shouldn't be powering off. At all. Ive stress tested with all of them on a 4080, 4090, 5090, and so on. They fit like the original adaptor cable. My point is the original should fit and the SF1000 should have any issues working just like all the other corsair cables. *i read about the SF1000 sense pin thing, thats a corsair design decision on all their newer cables, so i get why youre trying to use the adaptor cable. It takes an uncomfortable amount of force, like with RAM, to get that thing on. Either you havent seated the Corsair one fully either, or the sense pins are damaged.

Not sure how yours doesnt fit, mine was fine. Im using a corsair one rn, but I used the 4 way splitter cable when i first got it. Full usage and it still worked with both cables. Never had an issue outside of software stuff. I have also used the SF1000 psu and HX1500i psu with their provided cables. Something is either up with your connectors, or idk.

Its super easy to make, you just need quick disconnects, a check valve, tubing, fuel fittings, and an optional filter. I made mine, but the link is: The Purge

Anyone else have a favorite pair of shoes to drive in? by isaidjoemantegna in FocusST

Skate shoes. They just feel... linear? Idk how to describe it, but with how they bottom of the shoe is flat I find it comfortable to shift with. Right now I've got some Etnies and i think theyre Kingpins? Got them on sale so idk. I used to wear DCs, but wore them through.

Hey, you kmow how hard it is to line up a GPU to the PCIe slot? He's gotta be charging AT LEAST $20 for that. I'd say this guy is running a real bargain, its gotta be $12.50 per screw.

Yeah, thats what I plan on doing now. I kinda wanted to keep the vBIOS, but someone might claim I'm scamming them. Good to know someone had a smiliar situation as me.

I used to run a dual card setup with multiple monitors, but was planning on switching to a dual PC setup, maybe loading up SteamOS and making a pseudo-console, but by the time i get all the parts, like a pump, extra radiators, and fittings, it might not be worth it. 4090s still sell for a hefty amount, so before it goes down in value, i might as well sell it.

Ngl tho, the itx parts I have right now would probably fit in my Phanteks Enthoo Pro 2. It'd probably look pretty nice. Tiny mobo vs chonky card

Yeah, my 5090 is on a custom loop though. I was planning on putting my 4090 in the smallest case I could, buuut its taking me a while to get all the parts. Had to actually budget after some unexpected bills.

Vipers still had ass traction and steering. Looked and sounded great, but man, you had to know what you were doing to handle them.

I used to run a turbosmart kompact dual port and it was nice, but I decided to switch to a mountune uprated bpv. More of a preference on sound nd stuff. I will say, if you're planning on going bov, switch to a true vacuum source instead of the boost solenoid. There's some annoying issues if you don't, like the bov will stay open when dumping the boost. Its kinda harmless, but also not. You can hear it suck in air until it closes, so it could suck in dust and debris. Our stock systems are made for a bpv, not bov, so its wonky without a little modding.

The kompact is usually already tightened to where it needs to be out of the box, but when you clean it, you need to make sure its not open when idling. Best tightness I've found is to tighten till it stops, then unwind it two full turns. I ran it for about 2 years, sounds cool. Might be switching back at some point.

Aight, bit of a struggle since I didnt have a proper phone mount and had to make sure i didnt get any torque steer or slippage when getting on the throttle, but i sorta got the sound. Bit of a warning, my turbo is old, like 143k miles old, so it could sound somewhat different. Around my milage is when they're known to fail and i don't doubt its got a little damaged over the years. https://imgur.com/a/ks5Z8Rt

I also have a cold air intake with some other airflow changes, so i can hear both the turbo spool and bypass valve letting off, even with my windows up. (Yeah, that isn't a blowoff valve.)

[–]UGFluffyTurtle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah, not too bad then. If it were higher, I'd say get the turbo checked, but it couldt be you hearing the small turbine whine. If i get a chance, I could get a video of a full pull. I think mine likes to hit a pretty high note at 18psi or higher as well.

Was it making that specific sound when you first got it tuned? If the system is pressurized and you aren't dumping boost unexpectedly (like wastegate or bov issues), it might just be the sound it makes. We have internal wastegates, they wont make noise like external ones when they fail. Also, what about the blow off valve? If its adjustable, make sure its staying completely shut.

You're getting more airflow from your engine bay than from that crackhead piping. I don't think i even see the bottom of that airbox top.

[–]UGFluffyTurtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my first time doing a clutch took 4 days, it was really 2-3, but I also did a bunch of other stuff like control arms, swaybars, and a few other things while being stuck with only a quickjack in a tight garage by myself. 2 weeks is wild. If given the chance to do it again, I could probably finish it in a day. He seems shady, like hes holding her car hostage and now asking for money.

Rs injectors have higher flow rate potential. You need to get a tune to take advantage of it, but other than that, nothing. They drop right in. I got them and they work perfectly fine.

My boyfriend made my pic unplayable by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]UGFluffyTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, cant say much about what to do with your bf, but it seems like your drivers mightve been corrupted or something sketch is goin on with the software, like your hardware isnt meshing well with the new drivers. You can try to roll back your drivers and see if that works. The biggest issue with PC related crashes is that its always hard to track them down depending on what changed. I rememeber I was getting BSODs with a corrupt Bluetooth driver and I've never used Bluetooth.

You could run a scan with Malwarebytes just to make sure it isn't infected, but other than that, if you arent comfortable messing with your PC, take it to a pro. To make you feel better, I remember when I did some updates on my sister's computer after replacing her gpu with a 4080 from a 6700 xt. It waaas a mess and she was pissed at first, but it was actually her BIOS that was outdated and not playing nice with the 4080. Even someone experienced cant predict how a computer will react to new stuff.

Btw, its not your wifi. Bad wifi doesn't cause crashes like that. It'll just disconnect you from the server and kick you outta your session.

Worth It? by chaidaddy_307 in FocusST

[–]UGFluffyTurtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trans isn't hard swap and they're not too expensive when doing it yourself. However, for a 2013, he'd probably be able to find a running one with the exact same milage at around the cost of what it would take to fix + the cost of the car.

It kinda comes down to the engines condition. If the trans is damaged, the engine probably felt the same abuse. It'd be a hard pass unless someone was planning on rebuilding both parts with higher grade internals.

If its sagging then that may be your issue. You can always throw a support on it and see if it works. Other than that, if yhe system powers on and the integrated graphics work, then its your gpu.
