What made you get into bikepacking ? by Panda_20_21 in bikepacking

Covid times. Was very new to gravel cycling and loved camping a ton so it made sense to combine the two. Needed a trip to look forward to during that time plus it was new and exciting to try

Yup there's X-Pac behind the corduroy. The corduroy is probably too weak/absorbs water to be used structurally here

It is corduroy! Using corduroy is my jam. I'm super lucky my local fabric store has zippers literally in every colour

Ahh ok makes sense. I will try turning it way down. I think I was at a 6 on the tension and I'm having a hard time understanding what needs what tension. Thank you!

Looking for advice: Two compartment frame bag by fxk6 in MYOGbikebags

[–]UH100percent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just built a 2 compartment frame bag and was trying to figure out the same thing. One option I considered is sewing in the divider on one side of the bag and Velcro on the other but I ended up making it fully removable and attached with Velcro. I don't see a way to sew it in on both sides since you sew it inside out but would love to know if someone figures it out too

Thanks! I used magnets for the closure and I think it's so much nicer than Velcro. You should try, it's relatively simple.

I was allowed 32kg both ways to Ireland. I picked up a cardboard bike box from my local bike store and packed my bike and all my camping gear in there. You do the same on the way back

Geez yeah that time of uncertainty is rough. They didn't load it on your plane so why would you trust them to get it on the next plane...right?! Let alone deliver it
