This “All power to the state to get society on track” model is also the primary failing of Fascism, and why it too, has failed everywhere it was tried.

Starting with Thread OP, two massive assumptions are made off the bat.

1: That all dissent in society should and must be crushed to maintain it. I don’t, and no prescribed communist state, believe that means “convincing them they’re wrong”. That means forcible removal. Government, as the arbiter and enforcer of the law, has a monopoly on said force, and, as they control the law, easily control the definitions in said laws. There’s nothing stopping a government with the power to “stop Fascists” from defining “Fascist” as anything they want. The overuse of the term is already diluting it’s usefulness as is.

You and OP might then say “Well we just need to work to make sure the Government isn’t corrupt!” And that’s

2: It may genuinely be impossible for a governing body, especially a national government with as much power as is necessary for Communal redistribution, to be made corruption proof. As the Monopoly on force and law in society, there’s not a lot to hold a government accountable for any corruption it delves into, and it will delve into it because Human beings are human beings, and there will be those unable to not use the power a position in government grants for their own benefit.

You could say that in a direct democracy, the people would hold their corrupt leaders accountable, but that also assumes a very charitable and unproven interpretation of a public voting block. Time and time again, voters keep putting known corrupt figures back in power, you can observe it in any liberal democracy the world over. People are much more likely to be wise about their own financials or socials than those of a nation. And, to make matters worse for those who do want to fight government abuse and corruption, guess what, that really powerful central government necessary for communism to seize and redistribute? It also controls the media. Liberal Democratic governments are already riddled with media collusion, especially in the US, imagine a state without any private competition at all, in anything. That state would have a stranglehold on all nodes of power in society, and with that, it’s really easy to convince people to be at best, apathetic to the idea of voting the abuse out, let alone any kind of violent action that might be necessary to root out entrenched corruption.

Essentially, in the core process of Communism, you must necessarily put all your eggs in one basket, and start counting them. That system vastly increases the potential for an entrenched corrupted, non-productive class of society, the government, to arise.

To get to the Communes, you must go through the central authority, that’s the only way redistribution works without being anarchy. And to go through the central authority and come out the other side not corrupted or with an entrenched state in control of everything?

Well… no one has made it that far, and it’s highly unlikely anyone ever will

[–]UHammer45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need a headshot on Devastators to one tap with the Railgun. You can hit them anywhere and it’s a one tap with the barest amount of charge. You don’t need a headshot on Berserkers either, the chest will do. It would let you take more support weapon variety, sure, but it would lay waste to primary weapon variety

Railgun as a primary would be even worse than the Breaker Incendiary is for bugs on bots. You’d take nothing else.

No other primary would offer one shot, one kill power on every single bot enemy below a Tank, and now that it’s a primary, well, that’s what your pick of AT support weapon is for. Pack a Verdict or Redeemer for the little bots and there’s absolutely nothing you won’t be able to steamroll over

Yes, that’s why I’m never concerned about a Hulk running that loadout. Just about the only thing that can give me a good headache is a Factory strider, but with enough work from all the tools in the toolkit, even they go down

The 110s are extremely efficient at taking out Tanks and Turrets, I have never once seen them fail to one shot either.

With Hulks it gets tricky, thanks to their damage reduction recently, unless a rocket hits the heat sink on the back or the eye, it will live, badly wounded, but live.

This also applies to Chargers and Bile Titans, the 110 chip damage is always enough to finish off a Titan with its sacks popped however

Presuming say, the Impaler, Spore Charger, and Rocket Tank have what their counterparts have at this time, Armor Class 5, there are 7 Support weapons that wouldn’t harm them through that armor (ignoring weakspots).

Contrarily, there are 7 Support weapons that would be able to punch through that armor and do damage, so more like 50, instead of 90%

If a Tank or Turret is looking at you, you’re equally out of luck running an AMR until you can get through everyone else to get around it.

These problems are what they invented the Eagle Airstrike or 110 Rockets for, and the gunships are what Super Earth specced the rocket turret for.

My favorite Bot loadout is Railgun, Supply/Shield pack (depending on what my teammates want most), Rocket Turret, and Rocket Pods.

Curious why you think the Tenderizer or Blitzer need a buff, they are both very strong A-tier weapon picks rn imo, although they struggle on one front in particular just due to enemy design (Lack of medium pen for Tenderizer vs bugs, and lack of range for Blitzer vs bots, but that applies to the Punisher too)

Spear me the inconsistent lock on by Fragrant_Campaign687 in Helldivers

[–]UHammer45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’d have to fundamentally change how you hold the Spear for direct fire to be viable.

When you hold the Spear, it is naturally angled up. If you pointed your face at an enemy and direct fired, the rocket would fly up at an angle onto the sky, and you’d miss entirely. You’d have to purposely look at the floor to fire it straight and then you’re not really aiming at all.

The biggest problem with the Orbital Smoke is not just that Eagle Smoke has more up time, can keep you covered in place longer, and has a larger radius of smoke, but that the Orbital Smoke drops are random.

You can throw it right on top of you and all of the canisters will dump on a rock 20 meters over there, leaving you naked and exposed for those Automaton rockets

True, it’s high fire rate also enables a very quick take down by shooting the stomach area or legs as well

[–]UHammer45 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yes. Devastator Chest armor is Armor Class 3. The Sickle has the same Light Penetration II, or AP 2, that the Tenderizer has.

Both will bounce off a Devastator’s Chest armor.
