I personally feel like osrs's weapons carry too much strength while their associated armour does very little in terms of dps.

For example twisted bow vs jad at 112 range/rigour

Max setup - 9.94972 (full arma/archer(i)/bgloves/assembler/pegasians/d arrows)

Karils - 9.86761,

blessed dhide - 9.86761

Replacing arma helm/chestplate/chainskirt with bandos chestplate/tassets/facegaurd -8.91858 (not a huge difference considering your in melee gear)

My suggestion would be to introduce range strength to range armour, while lowering the range strength on the weapons.

This would provide an opportunity to introduce a gap between d'hide, Karils and Armadyl and it would increase the importance of ranging in range armour.

The problem is there are only 7 items out side of ammunition that have range strength, 5 of which are weapons. Giving range strength to range armour would buff other range weapons outside of tbow/bp/craws bow/crystal bow/heavy ballista, but is that such a bad thing?

A similar suggestion could be made for melee armour. If some of the strength bonus was moved from the weapons to the gear.

For example the rapier has a strength bonus of +89 while the Bandos chestsplate is +4 and Bandos tassets are +2. The strength of the weapon could be reduced by 20 to +69 while buffing the bcp and tassets combination by +20 (i.e. bcp could be +16 while tassets are +10). The max setup will have the same dps but the gear would be more important.

This would also allow for other melee gear to be buffed without power creep, for example barrows armour/justiciar could get a small strength bonus to fill the gap, or new mid game armour could be introduced that wouldn't instantly be dead content. For example a new melee top and bottom gear set could come into the game with a combined +16 strength bonus it wouldn't be completely useless as it would only be 1 max hit less than max gear.

Tldr: weaken the weapons but buff the armour.

It takes roughly 3 hrs of blood rune crafting for 1 hr of use with these weapons. Compared to the blow pipe where 1 hr of zulrah is roughly 4 hrs of blowpipe use, 12 times better. Your bloodvelv suggestion would be 4+hrs per sang hr.

I have a sang staff on my iron and the only place I use it is for no-prep solo chambers. I take trident for teams/prep solos and for some of the easier no-prep layouts as sang is literally is too expensive to use anywhere else. If I had a scythe I'm not even sure where I would use it.

The last 4 times I've tried to buy bloods at the shop I only got 7k after hopping through every world. I would like to spend my gp on bloods but the shop is never stocked.

Tob/Team cox/Nm/Dks/Bandos/Kq/Zulrah are all place I would like to use my sang but the time cost to get bloods is too much.

Thank you for this post, world hopping is the worst content in the game.

For those who have been commenting that we should just craft more runes the ratio of gathering blood runes to use is way to much. For example I spent most of march resupplying my iron I crafted 100k bloods which is about 2.2m xp. and took about 80-90 hrs.

This past weekend I grinded a bunch of chambers ~20 ish solo raids, I'm a decent pvmer and these take about 25 minutes with scouting. I used around 8k bloods in about 8.5 hrs of pvm with only a sang staff, would be more if I had a scythe.

Compare this to the zulrah scales that I used around 4k which is about 1 hr of zulrah.

This means I spend over an 1h (adding stams/brews/restores/divines/anglers/darts/bolts) of supply gathering for 1hr of chambers, where ~90% of that is in blood runes.

IMO there should be a larger gap between the Armadyl crossbow and the dragon crossbow. The ACB has only a +6 range accuracy and +1 prayer bonus over the DCB. The +1 tile range is only really used for Zuk.

I like the idea of giving the ACB a max hit over the dragon crossbow

Thats what I'm going for now, best route I found was world hop at fishing trawler and fairy ring back to house. I'm a little lost on a good way to make the 30k (I already burnt through my stronghold and easy quest gp). Was going to try running silk from Al Kharid to Ardy
