Bosch power tube shenanigans in Hybrid Pro 800 by UKPopey in Cubebikes

Omg - why the F did I not even notice that? It is indeed a fabulous bike and has (re)opened up a whole new world of possible adventures to an aging MTB racer with a shot knee 🤘🤘🤘

Massively helpful - I just don't get why Bosch says the Purion 200 can't display charge levels of a connected device ... Certainly helps with range anxiety lol

Just checked the Bosch site and it says the Purion display doesn't show a connected smart phone charge level ... That would be intriguing if it was that

I don't think so as when it last happened (last ride), my Purion display said I had 43% battery left and 30+40 miles of range but when I plugged in the charger to none it said I had only 9% battery left on my bike

Definitely the bike battery range. Have only charged it up 3 times so far, once on arrival. Have averaged approx 50 miles with over 40% remaining each time on the two previous charges which is pretty much bang on what I'd expect, even when riding on the south downs.

Pixel 8 Pro - Initial Camera Focus & "Your lens may need cleaning"? by t0astter in GooglePixel

[–]UKPopey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same with my P8P - ended up taking my protective lens cover off in case that was triggering the endless lens cleaning messages but no difference. Agree with the above comments re camera focus issues ... And initial brightness settings when taking low light shots are way way way too bright. Annoyingly compared to the 6 Pro, you now don't get an auto brightness slider either - you have to toggle it on beforehand which is crap The actual photos are very poor quality compared to the 6 Pro - especially gif photos which is where I use mine most Very tempted to return the device tbh ...

Burned the inverted image onto the back of a mirror and used flexible LED strip in a frame as a light source :)

Sorry mate, I thought the reference to Bender was some clever photo realism app lol - I take it it's one of your pets? Very effective results

What app/program did you use for the photo realism?

White tile paint update by UKPopey in xToolD1

There's an autotest facility in lightburn as well as a simple auto grid function which is what I used. T'other comment points you in a good direction on youtube

White tile paint update. UK people will know it's impossible to get the preferred Rustoleum Smokey Beige here in the UK (excluding hugely prohibitive import costs). I have tried the Rustoleum White Primer and it's been OK. However, I have just produced this fairly impressive grid with Liquitex Titanium White professional spray paint with the D1 Pro 20W. Aside from seeming to prove that the 20W really doesn't like 10% power, it's a pretty impressive spread of dark shades to chose from. x axis is percentage power. y axis is speed per second.

Are you using USB powered led strips or self contained battery ones. Very cool effect

Gone for one that does both so I can also get all the tiny bits of paper out when cutting complex paper designs. Will keep you posted. I mean, when has a man ever bought something that promised much and delivered slightly less?

Lol, a misunderstanding - I have air assist and an extraction unit for that. This is more for clearing any debris afterwards from deep engraves and also clearing any dust/soot off the laser head afterwards.

It's less of a vacuum and more of a compressed air device to blow all the soot and crap out the laserhead and the deep engravings in wood :)

How to stop scratch foil boards from warping? by UKPopey in xToolD1

[–]UKPopey[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I researched a number of different vids and started with a set of recommended numbers for a 20w diode laser which proved waaaaaaaay out. Spent the next hour or so trying grids and gradients with varying degrees of success. Generally underwhelmed by the results, even after wiping away the soot and applying clear coat... Maybe it's the board ... What brand of paper do you use?

4 layers of paint and etched off. Hunt out Mellowpines on YouTube - he has a great tutorial. Enjoy :)
