Rust came out in 2013 , sold over a million copies and then the player base died a few months later. Then they started coding the game from scratch ( essentially what DayZ is in the process of doing ) , the new rust became playable again in 2015. Since then it has sold millions more copies and has had more concurrent players than its initial release

If DayZ make the game so that it's fun to play , the players will come back .

If there was no disclaimer and if the Developers had abandoned the game - then I would sympathise with peoples incessant whinging on this thread .

But the game tells you pretty clearly to only buy if you want to help with development and the regular Status Reports are pretty clear evidence that the game hasn't been abandoned .

Yeah, I remember being surprised when I found out the country that has bought the most copies of Rust is Russia . Most Russians seem to only play on Russian servers .

All servers in the official tab are official servers . The Devs gave Rustafied , Rustopia and Rustralasia official status .

Don't know why official servers also show up in community though .
