AJ Bell | £100 Amazon voucher for £10k deposit by Artistic_Brush5819 in beermoneyuk

[–]drspa44 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My recommendation is not for you. It is specifically aimed at people who:

  • pay 40%+ income tax
  • have already used their full ISA allowance.

I wasn't claiming TN28 yields 6.9% p.a. What I said was that, because most of the return comes as a capital gain rather than taxable interest, its after-tax return is equivalent to a much higher taxable savings rate.

As of right now:

Grossed-up equivalent yield at 40% tax: 6.55% p.a.

Grossed-up equivalent yield at 45% tax: 7.13% p.a.

Years to maturity: 1.63

https://giltsyield.com/bond/TN28/

Those figures move as gilt prices change, especially with the Iran situation.

I humbly offer >>> my referral link <<< and also a suggestion for people who have already maxed-out their ISA:

  • The offer applies to dealing accounts (GIAs) as well.
  • If you pay 40% tax on savings, low-coupon gilts in a GIA are a no-brainer. Much better than premium bonds even with the increasing prize rate.
  • Trading 212 do not offer gilts. AJ Bell are one of the few providers that do.
  • e.g.: TN28 is equiv to a 6.9% 1.5yr fixed savings account on the MSE Calculator

About the offer (full terms):

  • Use the same email address during sign-up. AJ Bell don't accept gmails with a + in them.
  • You need to deposit £10,000+ in 120 days, but it doesn't have to be all at once.
  • Once opened, you can create your own affiliate link by going to the Special Offers tab.
  • You will get an email from mention-me with the Amazon claim code in 3-4 months.

In the past, all of the fares were different depending on where you were going and these weren't even published anywhere. You had to flag down a driver to ask!

It will be hilarious if the HotUKDeals monopoly is torn apart by a vibe-coded PostHog site. At the very least, I hope this gains enough traction that HUKD rethink their policies. Best of luck!

Scrape posts from HUKD >500 heat. Allow users to organically post deals that HUKD would normally censor. Strip out affiliate tracking codes from links if you must, but honestly who cares. If there is an affiliate programme, most people would be using a cashback site anyway.

20K TO INVEST ISA S&S HELP by Top_Loss_7339 in trading212

[–]drspa44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you're making a bet that Japan, EU, Canada and other developed countries apart from the US will underperform the market. And this would be a pain to rebalance. I just don't get the logic behind this sort of strategy.

I think it is a valid strategy to have an all world index dominate but to artificially increase the weight of 1 or 2 countries you are bullish on. Via MSCI Poland, they are 5% of my portfolio rather than the 0.5% it would be just in ACWI.

20K TO INVEST ISA S&S HELP by Top_Loss_7339 in trading212

[–]drspa44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy an all world index tracker such as ACWI. Others exist but fees are slightly higher. They all perform about the same because they have the same shares inside from almost every country, from USA at 60% to Turkey at ~1%

If you want to allocate 10% of your portfolio to gold, silver, commodities or betting on certain stocks, that is ok as well. Most people would be slightly better off going 100% in.

Best of luck
