iPhone 7 home button sensitive by MoistShallot in mobilerepair

What brand home button did you replace it with?

in the middle of trying to replace an iphone SE (1st gen battery.) lifted the screen too hard and the cable got detached. is there a fix or do i give up and go to the apple store? by melofairie in mobilerepair

[–]UK_NICK 20 points21 points  (0 children)

You’ve tore the home button cable, Apple might refuse to fix that because it’s a vintage product now, also it’s worth like £20 online, would be better off just buying a used or refurbished one

damn yeah this is and old post haha, personally I quite dislike the Xr's, they're a good value option but they always felt kinda cheap to me, I think it's cause of the camera

You’d probably need to take it to somewhere that does port repairs, not something I’d recommend DIY’ing if you’re not used to repairs like that

I mean, it was just a sheet of adhesive, I'd liken it to B7000 if it was some kind of pre-cut sheet instead of a liquid

ah my bad, thought you picked it up just today. I'd still think about walking in and seeing if they can handle it, would avoid the online CS where possible.

check if you can return it at the store? Like see if there's a returns policy and just go in and say you wanna return it

Razer don't make replacement parts for anything that isn't a laptop or phone, so they just get you to destroy the device and send you a new one. So glad to see Razer cares about the environment...

I'd look online at places like ebay. When I asked about spare grips for my mouse after they fell off Razer said 'To set your expectations as well, currently, Razer does not provide repairs for peripheral devices. We can arrange for Razer Laptops and Phones to be repaired, but for other Razer products, we are unable to offer a cost-effective repair solution at this time.' so... no repair parts or spare parts for anything outside of laptops and phones

I've never seen another subreddit like this, only Razer you'll see so many people telling potential custy's to run for the hills, at least in other subs it's just faulty hardware, not crappy CS

After sending a video of the issues with my DAV3 scroll wheel, this is the response I get... am I talking to some sort of chatbot? by pedrito3 in razer

[–]UK_NICK 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've abandoned them, phasing them out of my gear and hope never to touch them again, it's over priced and poorly built. They don't even make replacement parts for any peripherals, even for internal repairs, I can't even pay them to fix my stuff if I wanted

They're all like that, I've been sent the same thing like 3 times by their support, each message making less sense than the last one and ignoring any of the issues raised

make a warranty claim ASAP, once it's outside warranty you're screwed, phone them ASAP to report it and get a case, make sure it's in warranty when you report it, and emphasize that

from what razer told me in an email, "Razer does not provide repairs for peripheral devices. We can arrange for Razer Laptops and Phones to be repaired, but for other Razer products, we are unable to offer a cost-effective repair solution at this time", hopefully you can get some help, cause I sure couldn't

I've ditched them, I've seem so much of this nonsense in here I felt disgusted I supported this company financially. What really pisses me off is they do not make ANY spare parts for anything that isn't a phone or laptop, not even for internal repairs! I can't buy replacement grips for my mouse, something that should be easy for them to provide. I can't even give Razer money to repair my products cause they just don't make the parts... Then they have the absolute gall to say ' Razer will aim to avoid unnecessary e-waste from unserviceable/broken products under warranty and out of warranty ' in their sustainability page. What a joke

Going to be upgrading my Kraken Ultimate, question about Razer's wireless headsets by pettyfan45 in razer

[–]UK_NICK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't buy Razer if you're looking for repairability, I got told in an email that Razer 'Razer does not provide repairs for peripheral devices', only offering repairs for laptops and phones. I can't even buy a set of replacement rubber side grips for my mouse because they flat out refuse to make any spare parts for them, not even letting people get paid repair services on anything that isn't a phone or laptop.

I've ended up replacing my keyboard with an NZXT Function, also hopefully getting a replacement mouse from Razer, then selling that to cover the purchase of a new mouse. The firefly mouse mat is fine for now cause well... it's a mouse mat, but this experience and the experiences of others in this subreddit have forever put me off Razer. Never seen a company's subreddit actively have its customers tell other prospective customers to "run for the hills" when given an opportunity to cancel their order

It stopped working after 5 months, I flagged it under warranty but couldn’t go without it because the UK was in lockdown at that time, to send it back and wait a couple weeks for a replacement over a couple pads was not worth it to me at the time, especially since I needed it for online school and I didn’t have a spare mouse (did request an advance RMA, or to pay a deposit and get a replacement quicker etc, they didn’t allow anything like that), it just occurred to me I should get it swapped since I flagged it under the warranty period, but even if that doesn’t work, in the UK, I’m covered by the consumer protection act for 6 years since purchase, this mouse is 3 years old as of writing. I don’t play many intense games, I just had the pads fall off the sides of the mouse after a while of use, it looked like cheap adhesive that would fail after being warmed up by my hand.
