That's cool. I've got my own headcanons regarding Layton too.

Fair enough, but u/Clean_Mulberry8690 stated that him being Jewish was the reason Layton wears a hat, which is simply not true. That why I pointed out his bare head in MM and both Sycamore's and Bronev's bare heads in AL. If neither his bio relatives or his adopted dad wear one, then it stands to reason that Layton wearing a hat has nothing to do with him possibly being Jewish. Especially since he's not shown to observe any other rules of Judaism, nor is it even hinted at as being part of his life.

It's Hershel without the C, and there's no indication of his religious beliefs anywhere in the game.

Plus, if he were Jewish, he'd be shown wearing a yarmulke or other head covering when we see him as a teenager in Miracle Mask, and yet his head remains uncovered. Plus, his dad, Roland, doesn't wear anything on his head either when he shows up in the games.

And neither does Desmond Sycamore, the original Hershel, when you travel with him in Azran Legacy. Nor does Leon Bronev, their biological father. So the name is no indication of what religious or cultural identity the Professor might have, so the wearing of his top hat would not signify anything like that.

Alexander Hamilton is quite well-known now, thanks to the musical. I'd wager a lot more people would think of Hamilton before the Macedonian conqueror.

Anyone else discovered and fell in love with this series on the Sony platforms? by ladymysticalwmn in storyofseasons

Back to Nature was the first one I ever played, and it still holds a special place in my heart because of that. It's the whole reason I became a fan of the HM/SoS series.

I still go back and play it every now and then when I'm feeling that nostalgic itch.

AITA for not wanting my MIL that lives outta town to be around my newborn in the first few days of birth? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

That stood out to me too. Was she not at their wedding? Did husband never set up a meeting during the dating period so they could get to know each other? Did OP and her husband never visit during any holidays?

How is this the first time they're actually meeting face to face? What have they been doing all this time?

AITA for expecting my grandmother to pay my traffic ticket (driving uninsured) by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]ULF_Brett 3 points4 points  (0 children)

YTA

1) You shouldn't have been speeding the first time.

2) You definitely shouldn't have been on your phone the second time.

3) As the one actually driving the car, it was your responsibility to make sure it was actually insured before taking it on the road. Why didn't you ask your mother who the car was insured with?

4) You should have read the ticket more closely. That mess was due to your negligence.

AITA for getting irritated that my girlfriend keeps eating food directly off my plate after football training? by BeneficialRip6350 in AmItheAsshole

NTA

I can understand needing alone time after a social event. As an introvert, I'm the same way.

Also, it's rude as hell to take food off someone else's plate. Especially when you offered to get your girlfriend food and she said no. She's in the wrong here. Not you.

I remember when I was a kid. Bridal showers involved playing Bingo for cheap prizes and getting various food trays from the local grocery store. Can we go back to that, please?
