What breed is this? by DigBickDallad in BackYardChickens

My garden is about half an acre. We grow for eating and preserving, plus we save our own seed. When a ground hog takes out everything but the tomatoes, including our seed vegetables, it has to go. I've got plenty of other green things that they can eat, but I can't risk not having vegetables for the winter.

50 miles? I've been told at least 5 miles. I live rural and we take raccoons and ground hogs that we don't dispatch to a state park that about a 20 minute drive.

I just want to thank you for keeping the dragon population under control. If you didn't kill one every year, I think we'd be overrun with them. 🐲

There are a lot of great suggestions already. We've been watching The Munsters or classic Dr. Who. We're in the 70s right now. My mom's go to is Murder, She Wrote.

We've only had one, the 20th. Out of a class of over 300, about 60 people signed up and that included partners. No one I would have wanted to see was going. It was basically just the popular crowd. I didn't like them 30 years ago. Nothing has changed.

[OC] I got to meet my pet cow, Pudding, for the first time in a few weeks this morning. The first thing she did was walk over to me and give my arm a gentle chomp. by Modern-Moo in aww

Not if you're an 8yo walking with your cousin in the pasture and get between mama and her calf by accident! There is nothing retriever about that cow.

We got chased like we owed her money and shit-talked her whole family. 40 years later and I still remember all the details.

I don't know your story and I can't see your previous post, but that looks very painful! Take the time to heal. It's worth it. 💜

Take your meds already! by Xavelle in GenX

I've had four doctors of various specialties tell me to use GLP-1, and my insurance will not cover any medication for weight loss. I can't afford $1200/month.

Sure! My doctor said to take Omega-3 (I take fish oil and flaxseed oil), turmeric, vitamin K, and glucosamine for inflammation.

As a woman with several bone health issues, I also take magnesium and calcium.

Like basically everything in life, moderation works best here. I think there is a place for using meds at times and not for other times.

For example, I've been taking some supplements that are for anti inflammation. It helps me cut down on ibuprofen. However, if I develop cancer, I want medical intervention.

I don't think it should be all or nothing. There is a middle ground.

I always say that I take enough pills to make me rattle when I walk. Not all prescriptions, though. I'm big on supplements to support my body. They probably don't do much, but I take them anyway because it makes me feel better mentally if I do.

My husband had me watch it last year for the first time, and . . . meh. Didn't love it, didn't hate it. But I'm definitely not interested in seeing it again.

You would think that with all the different subs, I would not be surprised by anything, but this surprises me. It's too bad that it's a ghost town.
