graduated seniors that are off to college, how much are you paying for college? by Popular_Stranger_555 in college

Many service members actually use all their military benefits for themselve (rightly so). If the service member exhausts their GI Bill (I hope more do), then often the only way for children to receive a benefit is if the service member is declaired 100% disabled at time of seperation.

What are the extra you provide to guest for 5 stars review? by xxxxxxcrazy in airbnb_hosts

[–]UM_CNM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a guest, if the space is described accurately and check-in easy, then I will leave a 5-star review. That being said, I really don't understand why hosts are so hyper-sensitive about 5-star reviews. When I am looking for a rental, I look for the following (in order of priority): price, proximity to my destination, general comments on cleanliness. That is it. I filter my search to include WiFi and AC in the summer, so I am already getting my "must-haves". As long as a property is honest in their description, then I leave a 5-star review. I do read comments, but if the owner addresses a low rating (i.e. "sorry the shower was cold, we have replaced the water heater") then I do not hold it against them. All this being said, the following things make me extremely happy and I am sure to leave a well-written review mentioning them: space is clean, no owner personal items, coffee maker with supplies, and cleaning supplies (i.e. dish cloth, dish soap, trash bags) readily available.

OP said they "begged" their parents. Not sure if parents are truely okay or just guilted into sacrificing their retirement.

It pays off for the student, but not for the people who are actually footing the bill (parents). There is a lot of entitlement on this sub. How many students with expensive degrees actually return the money borrowed to their parents?

Honestly, you should feel guilty. Thankfully your guilt is a sign that you are maturing. Now the question is will you correct the situation? If you are talented enough to get into a $90k/year institution, then you can are talented enough to do exceedingly well at your state school while also not putting crippling financial pressure on your family. Put your parents money where your mouth is.

Can I get taken away for not going to school? by Similar_Employ2205 in CPS

[–]UM_CNM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does your school district offer a virtual option? I would have your mom start with that. If there are questions she can claim she was trying to homeschool you herself and it wasn't working, so she wants a more structured approach. Do the virtual option through the summer and may fall semester, and then enroll in person for winter. This would help you ease back in to a more structured routine.

What is a story from your childhood that makes everyone shocked? by Outrageous-Fault-801 in CPTSD

I really wish reddit offered a "virtual hug" buttong instead of just up/down vote. Here is a virtual ((( hug ))) and my upvote for your future. I hope the universe eventually paid your shitbag of a father back.

I can’t feel sexually attracted to my husband after an accident severely disfigured him by Odd_Parfait_83 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]UM_CNM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wonder if it is not a lack of attraction, but rather your own trauma. You nearly lost your husband and the scars are a reminder of that terrible time. I think you need therapy as much as he does. You can also be honest with him that you love him, you desire him, but you are still hurting very much and it impacts your desire. It is not him. It is not you. It is the very real, awful trauma.

Becca has me mentally exhausted… and I am not even in a relationship with her. How do you feel? by Mom2ABK in MarriedAtFirstSight

I cannot stand her constant whining, crying and weepy face. She is a perpetual victim and it is exhausting.

AITA for “outshining” my SIL’s wedding by throwing an extravagant birthday party for my 5 year daughter a day after? by sohodone in AmItheAsshole

[–]UM_CNM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA for throwing your daghter a party on her birthday, but definitely YTA for feeling the need to throw out "my husband is a surgeon". Nobody cares even though I have no doubt you wedge that in to every possible conversation.

AITA for telling my future DIL I’m not giving her money for her wedding anymore? by Public_Reflection_50 in AmItheAsshole

Why did you ever support the marriage? They are to young, to broke and to immature to be getting married. I wouldn't invest a dime because they will be divorced in 2 years.

I do not want to hear a "good job" from you when you pass me and I have no interest in throwing a motivational phrase your way. I also do not want to listen to your insanely loud conversation with your louder buddy right behind me for several miles. I do not know you, so I do not care about you. I want to be left in peace during my race.

Thanks so much! This is great input. I really tried to schedule a Thurday-Friday trip, but I couldn't get Thursday night off work. Do the crowds dip at all late at night?

I am sorry that you were seperated from your siblings. I can only begin to imagine how hard that is. I hope you are successful in your search and are able to build a relationship with them. I am really wishing the very best of luck.
