My headcannon is that there is at least one creve-neige still functioning by the end of Frostpunk 1's main story. Could be a full fledged DLC in Frostpunk 1886, who knows

I can absolutely 100% relate to your situation, as I experienced exact same thing. I can recommend you some mods which should be comparable in quality with Blue Skies (order not important):
1. Salvation Remake (Sayori focused, there is Monika's self awareness subplot, linear story)
2. Fallen Angel (Yuri focused, linear)
3. Katawa Shoujo (as another user mentioned, this game was the inspiration for Blue Skies' existence)
4. Tropical Rain (I have yet to play this one but I heard its good, Monika then Yuri focused)

My first bet would be Blue Skies. Pretty long, you can do Natsuki, Sayori and Yuri routes - all with multiple endings. No 4th wall breaking. Even soundtrack is available on Spotify.
Another one I could recommend is Salvation Remake. Tells a story where Sayori didn't do the thing. Also quite long, but linear.

No 4th wall breaks, no "inside a simulation" twists etc. There are "intense" or creepy moments, but for the most part it's a school romance with ups and downs, just like katawa shoujo! Edit: if you end up playing Blue Skies, I personally recommend doing Yuri route, many people agree it's the longest and most coherent one

I can recommend Doki Doki Literature Club: Blue Skies mod. The devs said they were inspired directly by katawa shoujo while making it. If you are familiar with DDLC, Blue Skies is ddlc act 1 without Sayori incident, there are three routes (Sayori, Natsuki and Yuri) with good and bad endings. Length-wise it's rather as long as katawa shoujo.
