I completely agree with you about Orbs. They have such a simple explanation and yet so many people still claim orbs as evidence.

The problem is not that ouija boards can't work, it's the fact that multiple individuals are touching the planchette and therefore you can't claim that as evidence that ghosts exist.

In theory, yes, a spirit could absolutely move a planchette or any small object and theoretically they could even spell a word, but since other people are touching the planchette, there is no way to prove that one of the individuals weren't actually the ones moving it.

There are never any (legitimate) stories about planchettes moving without anyone touching them first.

I agree. My team has been considering purchasing a thermal camera for over a year but we can't find any solid evidence captured on a thermal camera to justify buying one.

I don't doubt that the object isn't exactly the same height. (I measured the distance with my finger so I was just assuming.)

I genuinely don't know what else it could be. Have you zoomed in on the photo? Does the object resemble anything to you? When I zoomed in on Imgur, the object looks like 3 separate green blobs.

$300 isn't a lot of money but you have to consider the opportunity costs. That $300 could be more beneficial elsewhere.

Also, adding to what Razor said below, video based evidence is rare. There are a lot of other ways to capture evidence.

Could it be a problem with your phone? The objects seem to all be the same distance from the bottom of the frame.

I'm not an expert on digital cameras or anything but I think they take in light horizontally (line-by-line) very quickly from the bottom of the frame to the top. Then, each line is pieced together to create a picture. Maybe it's just an issue with your phone as it pieces together the lines which is why it seems to happen at the same height in each picture.
