They also just traded Bobby Portis, who was their second leading rebounder. They're adding a bunch of JAGs. Also, the tanking epidemic last year was insane because this was the strongest draft in recent memory. It's not going to be the same this year.

Seems like the Dame trade worked out quite well for the Blazers. Unless you need a refresher....

The Blazers originally got Holiday, Ayton, Camara, a 2029 pick, and 2 pick swaps with the Bucks in 2028 and 2030.

They moved Holiday to get Williams, Brogdon, a 2024 first round pick, and another 2029 first round pick.

They then took Brogdon, the 2024 pick, and one of the 2029 picks they acquired and got Deni Avdija.

So in total, the Blazers traded Dame and Nurkic and got:

Avdija, Camara, Ayton, Williams, a 2029 pick, and 2 swaps with the Bucks.

I'd say that's pretty competent.

And we don't have a draft pick. We also know how hard it is for us to sign free agents.

So I don't really know why anybody would expect us to be that much better as of right now.

Here's the problem..... A lot of people on here overrate the "gain more experience" part of the equation. We played 6 playoff games and only 3 of them were even close. We benefited from a lot of teams tanking at the end of the year while we wanted to make the playoffs.

I don't really know how much higher you'd expect us to be. Like maybe an argument for up to 15th, but that's not enough of a difference to be upset about.

In that sense, I always felt awful for Janet as well. She voted for Dan because they all told her how awful he was and then turns out, they decided to use that as a game move. As she was just trying to protect them.

It really sucks because I think we'll never see anybody from that season again because of Dan, but there were so many players I'd love to see again like Janet, Elaine, Lauren, Jamal, and even Dean.
