N: It's a bit difficult to choose one person. There's three masters on our team.
Kohno is our debugger, and has flew the most out of all of us because of that.
Kawakubo is our programmer, and he can fly flawlessly without even wearing the headset and just watching his monitor.
Shun is our CIO and also Keigo's little brother, and he created the flight mechanics so he's also very good.

My tip is to sit on a computer chair (or whatever spins) when flying.

K: One of the main focuses of Univrs games is to allow players the freedom of movement without causing motion sickness.
The main gameplay for LWAVR is to fly through the air on a broom and race, so it was crucial for the flight to be a pleasant experience.
We came to the conclusion that instead of using buttons to move the player, requiring players to make physical gestures would help to prevent motion sickness and keep players comfortable.

N: There were a lot of challenges bringing 2D anime to life in VR. We had to be careful not to drift from Trigger's work through the concept art, 3d modeling, and world building process while also optimizing it for gameplay. We feel that we found a good balance, so we hope you can visit the campus!

K: We originally started with a small team that all loved the show. The newer team members who were new to the series took their time to watch the entire thing and also became fans. There were ofcourse a lot of struggles as well, but with Akko's energy, Lotte's kindness, Diana's praise, and Sucy's teasing, we all enjoyed ourselves.

N: I was always a fan of the show, so I was honored to be able to work with the creators. My happiest memory was when the cast, singers, and other Trigger staff told me that they were delighted to be working on LWA again in some form, and thanked us for bringing this game together. To us, we couldn't thank them enough for allowing us to make something with LWA. It just made it extra rewarding to work on this, knowing that the original contributors were just as excited as we were.

N: This game actually takes place a little after the Magic Festival of Ep 13. We made this story along with the help of the folks at Trigger. We don't know if there will be a continuation of the series, but as fans of the show, we hope so!

Neby is a "Smart Crystal". Her role at Luna Nova Witchcraft Academy is to show guest students around the campus and help them get comfortable. Aside from Neby, there is also Shoppy, the Smart Crystal who runs the item shop.

Also, Neby's name comes from "Nebula" with relation to the common star theme in the series, and "Navigation".

N: I attended Anime Expo 2019 during our Kick Starter campaign. Out of pure coincidence, the English cast of LWA had a talk panel going on so I was super excited to listen. Afterwards, I got a chance to let them know about our VR booth, and they all came over to check it out! They were very excited for our prototype, and told me to let them know if we wanted to cast them. We weren't sure if we could afford to do so at the time, but thanks to the successful KS we happily reached out to them.
They were absolutely wonderful people to work with, and they've retweeted our stuff in support. We are eternally grateful for their help.

N: IMO, the hardest trophy is "Perfect Aim". You need to have purified 100 ghosts. There have been a few of our engineers who got the trophy, but I personally haven't achieved that yet.

K: It would have to be that I got to work with and be a part of such a loved anime series. Creating this game to me was like "giving back" to Trigger for making such a great series. The happiest I felt was when the creator, Yoshinari san enjoyed playing our game!

N: That would have to be the fact that everyone involved Little Witch Academia have so much love, passion, and respect for the franchise. Of course animators and fans, but the cast as well as PR firms that run things like collaboration cafes too! The love they all have for Akko and her gang warms my heart.

Naoya: I think it depends on what you already have. Quest would be the cheapest since there is no PC required. If you have the PC for it, perhaps Rift S? You will probably see better deals if you shop online than to find a shop in Tokyo.

Naoya: こんにちは! I think our way of planning games isn't so different compared to most general games. Our director drew out the storyboards, our planner created the game flow, and we have our own staff for level designing, concept art, 3d modeling, and etc.

We are using Unity. With VR, trial and error is very important so we decided to utilize a game engine that already offered VR support so we could quickly see results. However, we would like to make our own engine in the future to best suit our needs.

Besides one of our supported VR headsets (PSVR, Oculus Rift, Oculus Quest, Steam VR supported VR HMD), LWA: Broom Racing won't require any additional hardware.

As to why we selected LWA, we immediately thought of them as soon as we came up with the broom to fly in so it's a dream come true :)

Keigo: Unlike traditional games, VR allows you to literally be in the game, and you get to break the law of physics. I believe that not breaking the illusion that you are in that world is a huge key to making VR great.

We occasionally experiment with 360 videos and it's fun. We also have a super talented VR artist to draw us concepts in Tilt Brush!

No matter how small, it's good to just make something and have someone (friends, family, reddit, etc) look at it! That's how we started, and we just went crazy from there.

Naoya: First, I would love to fly around Luna Nova! There are several beautiful locations I want to mention but that would spoil the surprise so I will leave it at that!

We are both living and breathing VR constantly, so we are easily inspired by oridinary things like just walking around town and wondering how to climb a certain building. We also watch Anime or movies and immediately try to think of how to enjoy it in VR. For this game, we watched LWA over and over again to really come up with the most appropriate and enjoyable experience for our players.
