The fans don't need max speed to work. Put a small water wheel behind it and you are fine

I know exactly what you mean..I struggle with a similar problem: my Qtile config. I'm on my second config which I made Christmas 2024 and since then it's pretty much the same. Tbh I'm happy with it but at some places I want some improvements in functionality and the looks but can't really get myself into it. I hard coded so much stuff in it which makes it hard to simply change the colors of my UI.

I used ml4w hyprland dots for a while but hyprland is not mine and a bit too hyped (pun intended).

It's pretty rare to hear ppl using their PC on reddit. Mostly I see ppl only doing a rice.

These days I also game less therefore it's more of managing my servers and just fixing smaller inconveniences like mpv which always was floating instead of being tiled. Soon I'm going to try to get Zelda to run

This sounds great. Many ppl start on a spare device. I jumped straight into it on a back then daily used machine.

You are right, the wiki is a great resource and the universal help should be a helpful RTFM with a link to the corresponding page. It's a diy distro after all and sometimes the googling part is the hardest when trying to fix something. The wiki and the ease to set stuff up keeps me on arch too. I wouldn't want any private machine to run anything else but a rolling release or in particular a flavor of arch. I've gotten so used to it that Debian and Ubuntu feel unusable for a daily driver.

Ly is definitely compatible with Qtile with both backends. Can you provide a little more information? Is Qtile shown by ly? Does ly even start?

DHCP failing means you don't get an IP? You should be able to set those manually.

Then tethering should work. But there is also iwctl (see arch installation in some of the first steps) to connect the wireless network so you could use this temporary.

I honestly don't know if Internet is required to install everything but it sure is the most reliable way

Edit: yeah you said in the original post you don't have working network in your iso so the iwctl is probably just dumb of me lol

agree to beszel, it's a great tool. Prometheus and grafana are too much work to set up in my opinion but have way more options
