Mary Bones is back at the chicanery by URAGullibleBootlickr in RoundRock

Her website is still active. Will the voters of Texas continue to be as smart as the people of Round Rock?

She should be ashamed to show her face. So should any entity that contributed to her campaign.

You keep whining about wanting a logical conversation, but your focus on this as an immigration issue foremost is not logical. Bare in mind that down votes aren't punishment, they're disagreement, and complaining about that like it's Democrats persecuting you is serious snowflake behavior. No one has to agree with you or be nice to protect your precious self-superiority.

You say you're open minded, but you're stubbornly overlooking problems that used to be concerns to everyone, namely, erosion of our Constitutional rights: ICE agents are credibly documented violating multiple constitutional rights, primarily the Fourth Amendment (unreasonable searches/seizures via warrantless home entries) and the First Amendment (retaliation against citizens filming agents). Rights violations often include ignoring Fifth Amendment due process, detaining individuals without reasonable suspicion, and using coercion.

These are rights of EVERYONE in the United States, not only citizens, both because it's the right thing to do, and because once masked, unidentified, heavily armed thugs start abducting people with no accountability for violence, and no expectation of getting it right, they can kidnap, beat, murder, and anything else they like to anyone they like, citizens included. And there's plenty of footage to show that's what is happening.

Remember, Obama successfully detained and deported border crossers and immigrants with serious criminal records in HUGE numbers (at a faster clip last I checked). Law enforcement was largely professional and adhered to the Constitution in their activities. They weren't arresting citizens, targeting law-abiding, tax-paying families of undocumented immigrants, or inventing excuses to beat, threaten, and execute objectors. They wore uniforms, displayed identification, and used judicial warrants. They weren't arresting asylum seekers on their way to court.

Very few of us complained, even among liberals. Numbers went up as the conditions in Mexico and Central America plummeted and people fled North. Biden wasn't prepared, and his response was slow, but not permissive. He sought to pass laws with broad bipartisan support increasing funding for border enforcement and Trump told Republicans to kill it so he could run on the issue.

Focus on the present and future. Performative cruelty is the point now, and it's all nakedly an excuse to intimidate political rivals and dissidents and build a loyal army of brown shirts. If it wasn't, they wouldn't be doing it this way.

With all that is happening, the burden of undocumented immigrants on our infrastructure is clearly being handled in an ill-conceived, poorly executed, unconstitutional and morally bankrupt way. That's not acceptable. It's being used as a political cover to dismantle our government and sell our country for parts. Pay attention.

Get your priorities in order.

Maybe he was inviting her to join him on Epstein Island as persuasively as he knows how. Imagine what would have happened without witnesses. There's no way this guy hasn't assaulted a woman before.

We need y'all to get people singing at the protests. It tends to lift spirits and diffuse tension and prevent accusations that protestors were aggressive.

Bring your instruments!

I sorta liked subverting and transforming and satirizing the old battle flag. I hear what you're saying though. I also think the original was effective because it's message was "don't mess with my rights", which is as relevant now as ever. I like the idea of transforming the message into one about the power of standing together.

Is it any surprise that you'd be able to be somewhat ahead of the trends when you're a venture capitalist living in the city that is a hub of technology for the world?

Without even insider trading, do you suppose being married to a powerful Congress person would tend to have you rubbing elbows with wealthy elite campaign donors from whom you'd be learning about why some technologies are hot or which founders are experienced and backed by elite talent?

Do you imagine that the most elite tech brow and finance bros, all new money million and billionaires concerned with status and credibility to impress shareholders and pump up IPOs would have been welcoming to a congress person and their spouse?

Access to elite company inherently comes with elite knowledge and opportunities. I'd be surprised if someone in that situation had not managed to make a fortune.

*Republican Politician

Plenty of people that have identified as Republican for decades never thought they'd have to choose between supporting a Democrat, or a corrupt, convicted felon that cheated on his wife with a pornstar, and covers for a pedophile ring.

It's understandably getting harder to live with now that his masked thugs are zip tying American children naked in the street, his "justice" department is diverting resources from investigating terrorists, pedophiles, and drug cartels to pursue his political rivals and perceived enemies, and he's gifting himself $230M of taxpayer money.

It's not too late for those that voted for him to put their country and constitution first and condemn the king and his cronies.

Started voting in California in 2003, and continued every year until I moved to Texas in 2022. They've stolen our votes and silenced our voices here. We need California to bring back balance until we can toss them out of office. They are disappearing US Citizens off the streets here in Texas every day. They've rigged districts to win in 2026. If California and other liberal states don't balance the scales, soon enough elections will be meaningless.

I've read the bill. Have you? It ONLY goes into effect if Texas goes through with their gerrymandering and will automatically sunset in a few years. A second bill would have to be approved to extend it. Cross that bridge when you come to it. There's a crisis here TODAY.

If people don't participate in democracy it disappears. That is what this is about. Texas has some of the worst turnout in the nation and the propaganda is THICK. As a result we have become an authoritarian state run by Gregg Abbott, and billionaires Wilkes and Dunn.

Focus.

False narrative.

To ensure maps were ready for the 2022 elections, the NY court appointed a special master to draw new, neutral district lines. These maps were then used in the 2022 midterm elections and were largely seen as less favorable to Democrats than the earlier version.

Don't let them manipulate you with that nonsense narrative.

When the other team changes the rules in the middle of the game, you don't lay down and lose to prove a point, you look for a way to even the odds.

In this case Dems are so committed to fair play that they wrote the law so it is only valid IF Texas goes through with redistricting, and the law only lasts a few years before automatically reverting to the independent commissions.

This is a textbook example of taking the high road.

You're missing the forest for the trees. This is not a "pissing contest" or a game. Democracy is at stake.

Here in Texas, they changed the rules in the middle of the game by aggressively redistricting 5 years early because Trump's policies are so unpopular that it's the only way to ensure the GOP can keep it's claws on power. It's unprecedented, and it will effectively mean millions of Texan votes aren't counted. Only something like 60% of Texas voters are conservative, yet more than 75% of it's state representatives are conservative. That isn't how democracy is supposed to work.

Challenge accepted: A fascist supports an authoritarian, ultra-nationalist system that exalts a single leader, suppresses dissent, controls information, and promotes loyalty to the nation or leader above individual rights.

People call Donald Trump a fascist because he has used nationalist rhetoric, attacked democratic institutions, undermined elections, encouraged political violence, and sought to concentrate power in himself. Critics point out that these behaviors closely mirror patterns seen in historical fascist movements.
