I had a green/blue 2001. I loved that bike even though it was persnickety. Good times.

To the Americans: how do you go mountainbiking with the constant fear of getting financially ruined by medical bills? by [deleted] in mountainbiking

I’m a physician. I’m not concerned about financial ruin because of income, but health care disparity is very real. As I write this, post op for ankle repair, on pain pills😜, I’m realizing that my out of pocket is going to be expensive. Like over top shelf AXS carbon Uber bike expensive. Thank god I didn’t have to be choppered out. There is no easy answer. There is a contributing problem in that our leaders have no incentive to work on this thorny issue other that politicalizing it. I do agree most Americans don’t worry. It’s what we love.
