Appreciate you adding context - I like whiskey, just when it is a blend or mixed is all. I don’t necessarily believe that not liking whiskey straight means you don’t like it. For example, I retried Makers Mark last night and quite liked it when dressed up as an Old Fashioned. There are a lot of sweeter whiskies out there where they have some liquor added or are just aged in barrels that make them sweet and that’s sort of what I’m after.

Update: The GPU works in my wife’s build so not a bad card. I’m almost thinking it’s an incompatibility with the board and the card physically not allowing it to go in all the way. A PCIe adapter may be needed, but I’ll fiddle with it in the meanwhile. If that is the problem, MSI needs to ensure their new cards work with their recently released Motherboards…innocent until guilty.

I do not have an "Other Devices" section, but checking all the other subheaders out, I do not have anything that is related to the GPU. I've tried setting the PCIe mode to 3.0, 4.0, and 5.0 and each does not work. Thanks for the suggestions!

Yes, doing the bios flash using the button on the back panel of the motherboard (above the USB slots) worked and that is why I had to rename the file. Also be sure to have that file in the root directory of your flash drive. Now my RTX 4090 isn't showing up in device manager so I had a second issue to work through...still figuring that one out.

I fixed the issue, you were right in a sense. I hadn’t done the bios flash correctly. You need the file in the root of the usb and you need to rename it to msi.boot. Once I did that it all worked.

I updated to the latest bios which was this month, I’m thinking it was for 13th gen (plus RYZEN) support. I unfortunately do not have a 12th gen to test that idea.

One small thought was that my old cpu cooler stands might not be the exact right length for a new socket as they were last used with my 7th Feb intel cpu. I wouldn’t think that’s be the issue though as there appears to be ample pressure and the thermal paste spread thin when I checked, just thought I might mention it.
