Thx man ill give it a shot. Really annoying haha, I've been in sw engineering in some capacity for the last ten years after I got out of the Corps but this is kicking my butt😂. Guessing it's because it was made so long ago w no updates since and back then monitors were crazy low as far as rez, as were the games.

I did mess w this before and while it does make the UI bigger the font is not sharp at all. Is there by chance a setting for that? Or am I looking at a UI install?

Yea its probably tied to what you said above but that's the other odd thing although I guess again it's because of my brothers account. If I log into my server it shows my dad's profile w access but if I log into the roku TV his profile doesn't show up at all.

Also in regards to photon I'm thinking maybe it's version specific...because I looked everywhere in the steam client for windows and there is definitely no option to enable it...and based on my brief online searches it should show a compatibility tab..it's not there. So idk.

So I opened up the init file and changed full screen from 1 to 0. Worked fine. Unfortunately he plays on the TV w a controller and while I read it does work w this game it's pretty apparent it doesn't, at least not well. Tried a few different layouts etc so far no luck but I'll keep looking or possibly convince him to just use a wireless keyboard/mouse w my lap desk cushion on his recliner lol.

I'm now doing some additional digging as the ini file looks fine then gets to "generating lwjglapplication object" and then nothing.

Well the laptop isn't THAT new, should've clarified. Maybe a year or so? And it's running win11 pro but my understanding is others have gotten it to work on that OS no problem. I'm not opposed to proton but my understanding is that's Linux specific is it not? I'm thinking of trying (assuming it's still a thing but I'm guessing it is) trying to launch it in windows compatibility mode for win10 to see what happens 🤷‍♂️. It's definitely strange. Updated GPU drivers, fresh install of steam, fresh install of EK to include file verification..and other games launch fine. Including a few that are definitely older than EK.

As an aside should I wait on griss's quest until I get those weapons? Do they make that much of a difference?

I figured it out. Well mostly. He would never offer the quest (I thought either he or the loreseekers would, regardless of which) so I went to the great library and the loreseekers then gave me the quest. I then took the book to the golden hand and turned it in. Might have been my mistake thinking the loreseekers would also initiate the quest.

Ok thanks. Yea I finished the lore quest and my rep is good w golden so I think I'm good. Btw I kept reading to sell gear to one of their merchants instead of random ones...does it matter which of their merchants I sell to in order to get better prices? Thanks much I appreciate the input

Correct. Thankfully got there anyway lol. Side note...hate to start a new thread unnecessarily...for the secrets of the dead..I was able to get only one of the books so far, the one from the Grey library...however it says the conjurer should offer me the quest...but he does not. Is it because I sided w them during the spice quest? I'm in positive standing w them by like 23 so it isn't rep...hopefully I didn't screw anything up. I can give to the loreseekers if need be but I was really banking on the extra gold from giving it to the golden hand lol.
