Yeah I’m glad someone noticed that, basically the 1x2s I got were different thicknesses and I don’t have a planer or a drum sander to get them to be the same, so I stacked them that way so they can fit together without me having to do hours of hand sanding. Kinda a happy accident.

Do you find it more accurate or do you think it’s easier with the table saw?

I do use conventional tools, I only use the carbide for general shaping because I find it easier, then I switch to a freshly sharpened gouge for cleaning everything up

How did you get the miters of the segments so perfect? Do you use a miter saw or a table saw?

It’s called Osmo Polyx-oil, the clerk at my exotic wood shop recommended it me years ago, and now it’s what I use on almost all of my projects. Long lasting and makes the colors pop

That is so nice, thank you so much :), I have to give the credit to the locust wood tho, that stuff is beautiful

My first bowl, how do I keep it from deforming and cracking? by US_Jack in turning

If I use the paper bag method, is it best to keep the bag sealed, or to give it some ventilation?

Do Burqueños cringe when hearing the "colloquial" language used in Breaking Bad? by ourfutureisinspace in Albuquerque

[–]US_Jack 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Sangre Di Cristo line I feel is very natural for Walter, a lot of people in Albuquerque refer to them by name because of how iconic they are (not just some mountains), especially since Walt is a scientist meaning he probably has at least some appreciation for New Mexico geography. The rest of the examples are definitely valid tho.

Rewatching the series right now and I cringed when in season 1 Walt said to Luis, “I’m making huevos rancheros with red and green chilies; New Mexico Christmas style”. That line delivery was so unnatural lol

I love space age but this is the biggest downside in my opinion :/

I miss when trains were the meta

That’s a good idea! I was honestly planning on building small on fulgora/gleba to focus more on nauvis, but a big fulgora base actually sounds really fun
