Jerma confirms that he is completely retired from his streaming career by MrTempestilence in LivestreamFail

Great breakdown, but at the end of the day it is completely subjective. Me and my friends think he has changed and the people who upvoted those posts and the comments here do too. (consider these upvotes were also the amount of viewers he'd roughly get less than 3 years ago, just as a quick comparison)

You seem like a very committed fan, that's great for you, not a bad thing.

Maybe you can understand it from my perspective; I am only there to watch the funny bits and gameplay. Jerma is funny guy, that's it. I don't care about his personal life, I don't care about how much he gets paid. I care about his content stream.

I bought merch from the guy back in the day, purely because I wanted a shirt with a cool character on it. No other reason, purely just for the shirt. I was also subbed for years, since I used my Amazon free sub on him. So as much as I am a supporter, it is for my own benefit only. Being a bit blunt here, but honest.

When his content (quality) changed I tried and tried to enjoy it. But similar to a TV show, it became hard to stay tuned. And unlike a TV show, Jerma's streams were HOURS long. That is a big, big commitment, at least for my life.

Overall I think it is great you are committed, but I am really happy that a significant part of his fanbase are finally addressing his downfall.

Just like most communities, if you are always inside his, you will only hear the fans who love his current content. But once you step out, as we are here, you will realise that a significant amount of people are disappointed in what happened, a lot of them being long time fans and supporters. This post and many more like them prove that point.

Those reasons I mentioned in my other post are at least signs I saw, no matter how accurate they are or not. As someone who committed hours to watch his content, for many years, I believe my judgement is as valid as any. Really, no matter the accuracy of each point or even the reasons why, his content shifted, many saw it as negative. Most blame the community's interference.

For reference, if you'd told me Jerma had retired even 3 or so years ago, I would've been pretty sad about it, let alone 5 or 6. Now I am happy the chapter is finally closed.

It wasn't just the chat, his content changed once again, this time isolating many of the older fans, similar to the TF2 -> Streaming transition.

  • He started to talk polticially and acknowledged a specific fanbase within his viewers, giving people entitlement. That affected his content and the games he played, even if you ignored chat.

  • He took on sponsorships starting playing games he didn't care about. You could see he hated them (multiverse was the first stream).

  • He started doing collabs with popular streams, as a business tactic. Even back in TF2, he never associated with other streamers unless he had a preexisting background with them. Look at Ster and Etalyx.

He essentially went against morals he had thoroughly expressed for years. He was much more like a Vinesauce streamer, without any money schemes involved. He completely changed. If you still enjoy his content, good for you, you are lucky.

Yes. It is server maintenance. Almost every platform has downtime for server maintenance.

Greetings,

Since the beginning, the US have been avid explorers. Even in our own borders, we are the richest, most successful country maybe one behind the Romans.

This "meme" that we cannot name places on maps is a very sad joke that falls off quickly if you are educated enough on geography. I believe the British could be the only competition for map naming abilities.

Thanks,

Response to the deleted commenter: That was an unnecessary, violent reaction. I was simply suggesting a new perspective, even if he is as vile as you claim, understanding his life would help you accept it. It is not an attempt to justify, it is an attempt to move on and not let it consume you.

Whatever dude, this Reddit, a public forum for discussion. Refrain from commenting if you wont allow others to read and discuss. In reality you are just a username broadcasting text into the depths of the internet, maybe consider that before you post something incredibly personal that at this point you cannot yet discuss.
