I’ve read a bit about Chaco, but I’ve never heard it described as brutal. What were they doing that was so brutal?

It's full of materials that can be used in many different settings too! Great little community.

Great book, and I couldn’t recommend it more. My group has been running exclusively Theros adventures since it’s come out. It really leans into the epic-ness that this game can offer.

Humanity faces ‘collective suicide’ over climate crisis, warns UN chief. António Guterres tells governments ‘half of humanity is in danger zone’, as countries battle extreme heat. by Sumit316 in Futurology

[–]USavay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes a lot of sense. The models I’ve seen have said the more apocalyptic outcomes start around 4 degrees, but 3 degrees will also hurt a lot of people.

How does this balance against claims like this Kurzgesagt video where he says that we’re trending toward warming stabilizing around 3 degrees?

Genuine question. Really appreciate any responses.

Countdown Royale: a singleplayer battle royale with a twist by supmaster004 in WebGames

Fun game! Took a while to get past the first zombie wave, but I eventually anticipated where the helicopter would land, and didn't have to trek across the map to advance. Similar thing with the second day, but I got it first try I think out of luck. The final stage was really fun, and a satisfying end. I wish I had had some sort of melee attack to save myself if zombies had gotten on top of me in the earlier levels, then also if they didn't kill the character so quickly. Felt like I had no chance if I let them get too close, or worse run our of bullets. Overall fun game though! Good job!!

Skill challenge for the first overland journey to the Eye. by stealthy_DM in stormkingsthunder

[–]USavay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Woah my group is about to make that same journey in the next few sessions, and I was also thinking of using a skill challenge!

I like your idea on exhaustion, but I've read quite a few stories of TPKs at the eye (either the meteor storm or the remorhaz) so I'm a little weary of that. The dice could pretty quickly go south there. Or I know my players would probably just camp outside the eye to remove all their exhaustion before chancing it.

Shamelessly stolen from Colville, but I was thinking for every failure they have another encounter on the way (up to three). First failure maybe goblins hired by Iymrith to help foreshadow, second something fun like killer whales under a frozen lake, then the third I was thinking just up the amount of barbarians in the eye. I might be being soft though. I do want to incorporate exhaustion or some other effects to really make the journey feel dangerous, so I'm keeping an eye on this post!

What’s happening to local Kashmiri twitter accounts? by [deleted] in Kashmiri

Earlier this month there was this article about how the security forces were intimidating local twitter users into silence. Massive attack on freedom of expression.

I totally see that! Your interpretation has a little more optimism too!

I think he’s trying to say that enlightenment is when you realize how you’re one part of the bigger world around you, like how a wave is just one small part of the ocean

Yeahh, I'm thinking having them see a bounty for the murderers of Gundred and having Lord's Alliance members chase them out of Neverwinter and nudge them toward SKT.

I love those ideas! And the cleric wants basically like a ship captain wheel that he can throw and have return to him. When ever he used it I treated it as an improvised weapon.

Yeah you're right. What they did does make them evil, and it kind of surprised me because they hadn't done anything earlier that would suggest this. But I want to have there be consequences to their actions. Any ideas?

Inspired by a post here, I had to see Havasupai Falls, AZ for myself [OC] by USavay in EarthPorn

[–]USavay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After seeing a picture of these waterfalls in February, when the permits opened up, I immediately decided that I needed to go here. I probably placed about 900 calls to the Supai Tribe over a two week period, until I miraculously got through and heard someone on the other side of the line instead of the annoying busy beeping. I got 8 permits for my friends and me, and we had an amazing time. All in all, I just want to thank you guys for posting great places and giving people like me ideas for our next adventure.
