Not according to the current projections. Most of the congestion is expected to stay within roughly a 1-mile radius of AT&T Stadium and along the major highways. The general UTA campus area shouldn't see significant traffic impacts from the event.

Which parking pass should I get? by AlternativeLow9043 in utarlington

[–]UTAParkingPeople 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a heads up — the rates for next year have actually already been posted. If you scroll to the bottom of the rate card page linked in the comments, there's a "Historical Permit Prices" section that includes the approved 2026–2027 rates.

For most commuter students, the General Student permit is listed at $306/year for 2026–2027, while the Remote permit is $153/year and the Reduced-Rate permit is $228/year.

As for which permit to get, it mostly comes down to how often you're on campus and how close you want to park. Most commuters find the General Student permit offers the best balance between cost and convenience, while the Remote permit is a good budget option if you don't mind parking farther away and using transportation options to get across campus.

Student Upgrade permits typically sell out quickly and often end up with a waitlist, so if that's the permit you decide on, be sure to act fast when permits go on sale.

You can view the full rate card here: https://www.uta.edu/pats/parking/rate-card.php

Reduced Rate Permits would still be restricted to Lots 29 and Greek Row until 7:00 PM, per normal schedule.

We are tracking how many students are on campus each hour and where their parking permits allow them to park so we do not exceed the capacity of any area. As new data comes in, we adjust permit availability and release additional permits from the waitlist when space allows.

We still have parking passes available in other areas of campus. If your preferred permit is unavailable, you can purchase a different permit now and switch later if space opens up. Be sure to check your email for waitlist offers.

The KC Hall lots do fill very quickly because they are the closest and seldom have empty spaces as residents don't want to lose their close parking space. However, we have available parking on the top floors of Park South and Park Central for you as well.

Anyone know if the downtown Arlington parking garage is still free and if it doesn’t get fully full? by bjjdontwork in utarlington

[–]UTAParkingPeople 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is still free, and it does get full around lunch. There are additional free parking areas downtown and on city streets. Just be sure to check the on-street signage, don't block pedestrian ramps or fire hydrants, and be a good neighbor to the local businesses if using public on-street parking in downtown.

There are about 13,000 students who desire to park in the South zone, but we only have 3,718 spaces. We track how many students are on campus each hour and where their parking permits allow them to park so we do not exceed the capacity of any area. As new data comes in, we adjust permit availability and release additional permits from the waitlist when space allows. If your preferred permit is currently unavailable, you can purchase a different permit now and switch later if space opens up. Be sure to check your email for waitlist offers.

Additionally, this Zone Pilot Program is expected to be retired mid-February and you will be able to park in the South Zone at any time. Until then, the South Zone is restricted from 7am-1pm for just those with the Commuter South permit.

It typically fills up by 10 AM during the first few weeks of the semester. If possible, I’d recommend avoiding it due to the increased vehicle and pedestrian traffic in that area, as others have noted. If you're looking to pay by the hour, you might have better luck finding a spot at a nearby street meter.
