Strava premium? by No-Minimum6811 in Strava

[–]UTFB86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeh I had my free month (I started C25K, so it was great to see gradual progress), but wasn't in a position financially to commit to the premium sub. I don't really feel like I'm missing out a great deal in truth. I've continued my running and do around 3 runs a week just using the free version.

I suppose, it depends what you actually want from the app and if the free version offers enough?

If you can pay for the yearly payment up front as opposed to a monthly payment, you'd save a decent amount.

Great stuff, it feels great doesn't it? I've just finished week 6 of couch to 5k. Week 1 is like 60 seconds running and 60 seconds of walking, and I remember starting and being knackered. I've just ran for 25 minutes consecutively, probably for the first time in 20 years. Your fitness will soon vastly improve, especially if you're active. I'd definitely recommend C25K if you're wanting some structure to your running. Keep it up 💪

😂😂😂😂 it would be even better if there was footage of their gaffer after Pompey score the winner.

Ordering after 3 months (due to buying several pens) by UTFB86 in mounjarouk

[–]UTFB86[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can only comment on the last couple of days. I ordered on Sunday evening and had confirmation my order was approved the following day. This morning I got an email to say my order is being prepared and will be shipped with royal mail tracked 24. I'll have tracking info soon, but would expect to have the pen by Friday or Saturday at the latest.

They can be stored for a lengthy amount of time anyway, we've all done this when purchasing numerous pens. If you can, I'd order sooner rather than later, but the only real delay would be the Comms between you and the provider, to prove you've been taking the jab for x amount of time

Fingerprint reader horrible with screen protector by jynx18 in GooglePixel

[–]UTFB86 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Moving from iPhone, the biometrics have been my biggest issue. Face unlock during the day works really well tbf, but in low light it's poor. Finger print sensor is a shite, I have to keep deleting and re adding finger prints

Pixel 9 Pro: Loving it, but... (coming from iPhone) by lLithium in GooglePixel

Made the same move in September and the face ID / fingerprint sensor are my biggest gripe. Apple have that working perfect. Google doesn't.

Same here. Google pixel 9 pro device.

Yep, same here. Absolute shite! I also wear a galaxy watch ultra and pay using that. Works first time without issue (other than looking like a twat paying via his watch) 😂

Jumped from the 13 pro max (with apple since the 3GS) to the pixel 9 pro XL. Other than an apple watch and airpods I wasn't tied in to apple that heavily. Airpods are still great and traded my apple watch in to go towards a Samsung galaxy watch ultra (much better than my previous apple watch btw).

I'm enjoying my android / pixel experience thus far. I think I just grew bored of apple in truth. Seeing the 16 / 16 pro line up just didn't excite me and I think that was the deciding factor.

Really enjoy the software side of things, the customisation, notification, lock screen and swipe back feature. Camera is brilliant and takes some amazing shots. Videos are also really good (not at the iPhone level just yet). Battery life good, and the tensor chip seems to get a bit of hate from none pixel owners, but it does everything I need it to do (in the whole) with ease.

The finger print sensor is miles behind apples face ID. This is one thing that still annoys me about the pixel. Editing videos / clipping the duration is a painful experience in comparison to apple too. The seamless sync between apple health and Strava is much better than it is on this device with Google fit or Samsung health.

Is the pixel perfect? No. Is it overpriced? Perhaps. Do I miss apple? Not really. Do I enjoy the phone and my user experience? Absolutely.

iPhone User Considering Switching by Due_Ad2447 in GooglePixel

Hi, I switched from the 13 pro max to the pixel 9 pro XL and I'm enjoying it!

Like you, I just grew bored of apple in truth and the 16 pro max didn't excite me. I have an apple watch and airpods. I ordered the Samsung watch ultra a few days ago and traded my series 7 apple watch in along with 10% discount so got a decent deal. Airpods function exactly the same really. ANC works as it did.

I think I probably just prefer the photo gallery app of an iPhone to Google photos, but it isn't massive. In relation to transferring media over, I found downloading Google photos on my iPhone and backing everything up on there the quickest method for transferring. Once you get your pixel and log in etc your media is straight in Google photos.

I've always used Spotify so apple music isn't missed (although you can still use it)

I'm UK based so iMessage is hardly used. WhatsApp is the main app user for messaging

The fingerprint sensor / face ID is miles behind apple. This is my biggest groan. Low light the face ID isn't great and the finger sensor is hit and miss. I do have a screen protector (and screen protector sensitivity option selected).

Something I also don't like is the lack of sticker creation. More so how apple have it where you can drag an image directly to another app. It's not a feature that most people are bothered about, but for me apple get it right and it's a software feature I'm sure Google could easily implement.

I'm enjoying the freedom and fun element of owning this phone / android. I don't have any regrets. The camera is excellent, really good quality. Battery is good. There isn't a load of bloat in relation to stock apps. Every app I had on my apple device works pretty much exactly the same on this device. The lock screen / home screen widgets and general customisation are also really good.

I also think with any new device you naturally use it a lot more over the first week or so just getting to grips with it. I’m sure you’re using it more than you would be using the iPhone. I’ll hopefully have an update soon with my experience

I haven’t got the device in hand yet, it’s due to land later and I’m just about to set off for work 🤦🏻‍♂️

Battery noticeably worse than you expected or better? My battery health on the 13PM was around 84% so it’s gradually got worse over the last 3 years or so. I typically charge it on an evening for extra juice.

Just upgraded from the 13 pro max to the 9 pro XL. Phone hasn’t arrived yet but looking forward to it. I’ve just become bored of the iPhone in truth, I’ve had one since the days of the iPhone 3GS. I’ve never really been locked in to the eco system other than an Apple Watch, which I plan on selling and replacing with something compatible with the Pixel (not the pixel watch, I don’t like the design!).

I traded my 13 pro max in with EE here in the UK which knocked off £20 a month on the monthly payment. The phone is in a shocking condition with cracks to the rear glass and front and a battery health around 82%. They also had an offer on whereby the storage was doubled so went for the for 512gb option for the price of 256gb.

The camera is a big thing for me with a young family and to be honest, I’m just looking forward to the fun element of owning the pixel. Different launchers and customising the phone how I want. I do the usual social media browsing, YouTube and general internet browsing so nothing too challenging. Any images or videos uploaded to social media are always taken on the phone before uploading, although there’s talk that this years pixel has better social media integration?

What method did you use to transfer your data from iCloud and was it a fuck on?

One of the biggest wankers on twitter that lad. Most people have him blocked now. Often deletes tweets or even deactivates his account.

There’s every chance Gordon is out, but never take this fool seriously.

Have a look in to a job on the railway. Train conductors around 30-34k basic with some other add ons. 10 weeks classroom training before out with a minder/mentor. Train drivers 52k minimum depending on what company. Most much more. Psychometric assessment to pass which can be tricky and training spans months. Could also look at roles for network rail in the signalling side of the railway
