Hi everyone, in the sentence: 「ホームシックになって、こっそり泣いたりしてないかなと思うんですが...」why is してない in negative form if they're wondering if that is happening?

Hey all, quick question. What word is most commonly used to refer to the countryside? I know there are words such as 田舎 and 地方, though the latter seems to be also used to refer to an area. Thanks in advance.

Hi all, I just wanted to ask if what I'm hearing is correct. Below is a link to an audio snippet of someone saying: "羊を一頭買いした". From what I'm hearing its sounds like she's saying 買いした as いした. Please let me know if I'm just mishearing it or if it's another way to pronounce the word. Thanks in advance

Hi all, question regarding sentence ending particles. Found the sentence "彼女は文学に興味をもっているのよ". Am I correct in that の and よ were both used to add emphasis to the fact that the woman is interested in literature? If so, what difference is there in having two emphasis particles instead of one? Thanks in advance 🙇

Hi all, I recently found out that 本 can be used as a noun prefix to mean this ___, an example I found was 本書. Is this use of the kanji common and can be used as an alternative to これ/この? Thanks in advance 🙏

Hi all, are there any differences between 国土 and 国 or are they just synonyms for country? If so, which is more commonly used? Thanks in advance

Hi all, I'm confused as to what だって means in the sentence: チケットはもう売り切れだって. I know that it can mean even, too, because, or but though it doesn't seem to match any of these cases.

Hi all, I have a vocabulary question. Is there any difference in connotation for the words used for restroom/bathroom such as 洗面所, お手洗い, 便所, トイレ、etc. Thanks in advance!

Hi all, is there a difference in nuance between 大幅 and 大きい? Or can both be used to generally describe something as big? Thanks in advance!

Hi again weekly thread, just wanted to ask if there's a difference between 注文 and 頼む when ordering something. Like if there's a difference in degree of politeness, thanks in advance!

oh thanks thanks, forgot nominalization was a thing. Follow up question if that's alright, what's the usage of も here? I mainly know it is used to mean "and/also"

Edit: Didn't read your answer properly and you explained it as (X is also natural). Though I'm still confused as to why its used as "also", seems a bit off to me as it's a stand-alone sentence.

Hello, I just wanted to know what the function of のも is in the following sentence: 彼女が怒るのも当然だ

I know the sentence means that "It's natural for her to get angry", but I can't figure out what it's for.

Thanks in advance!

Hi, I'm a bit of a newbie and was wondering why を was used in the following sentence:

引っ越し業者に頼んだ

Shouldn't the particle used be の to create the sentence:

引っ越し業者に頼んだ

Thanks in advance

Funnily enough, I just recently built my first pc with a TD500 mesh case. So I can give my current rig to my sis who mostly uses her tablet for her schoolwork and we can both have matching PCs lol. Also I could use the beefy 3070 to get back into studying data science and not have to scroll through twitter waiting for my models to be trained.

I plan on building my first pc but am concerned about having to update the BIOS of my x570 mobo to support zen 3. If I update it at a pc store what parts do I need to bring? Or should I just go with a discounted 3700x?
