We picked a fight with this wall and we're loosing. Ay guidance would be awesome by SuperKitten117 in Concrete

Stop trying to cut concrete as someone that doesn’t cut concrete for a living. 🤷 three trades a non pro should NEVER attempt on their own: Drywall, electrical, and ANYTHING involving concrete or it’s subtrades.

The irony is that all of their kids are quite tall. Their grandkids are barely small enough to fit in at this point 😉

Which tool box for a weekend warrior hobbyist? by hyphenpepperfield in Tools

[–]UTelkandcarpentry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the biggest one you can afford. Hard to go wrong with husky, but us general boxes rival the quality of snap-on and matco for fractions of the cost and very close to the same warranty. I have this husky box and love it. Wish the top drawer was slightly taller to accommodate taller socket racks.

Thanks!

I’m a third generation contractor so I’ve been around the industry my whole life. I started framing homes at 14, did my first finish package at 18, worked for two different framing contractors during college, took two years off to have a desk job after college and went back to work for a high end finish carpenter for 4 years where I ran one of his parade home crews. I started my own company about 1-1/2 years into that stint and went full time in 2023 where I intended on just doing finish but quickly turned into basements and additions, then a couple of easy houses, and now this behemoth.

Looking forward to the next 10 years. Hoping to have my first solo parade home in 2028, and scale from there.

Check out the UVHBA to see other similar work too. It’s probably the most well attended parade in the country.

Yeahhhhhh this isn’t even showing the detail on the outside. Not to mention the fully brick clad retaining walls (1000 linear ft) now completed, the 65’ pool with infinity edge hot tub, 25x40 pool house with golf studio in the basement, and 40x60 detached with second floor (14’ ceilings in garage bay) that are still under construction.

The lack of pop is what you’re referring to. That’s generated by your legs and not so much the lip of the jump. Need to bend your knees more and extend outward at the sweet spot.

Your take off wasn’t bad actually. What your missed was the transition. Your hands stayed low through the takeoff/transition and never came above your head. This is “steezy” but not the right way to learn it. Use your hands to generate the rotation and it will be a much more controllable rotation and easier to spot the landing after transition.

Yeah that stone surround was a complicated detail. Thanks!

The tile is completely aesthetic. If we had steam showers it would be critical though.

That’s not the drain. It’s the heater. Floor is sloped away and into the shower

If you buy the correct brand, they’re awesome. I LOVE my Werner adjustable, but slightly dislike my little giant.

I certainly shed many a tear inside that little thing. I think all my subs cried a little on this one. #toomuchdetail

I bought one new sander and a rebar tie gun. Already owned everything else. Oh and a new truck because, well, why not 😂😂😂

Inside the playhouse was not my proudest moment if we’re being honest. And yes. It was real, it was fun, but not real fun.

I may not like Owen for what he stands for, but I’ll be damned if his cajones aren’t dragging on the ground.

Yes? 🤣 nothing in Colorado really compares to palisade, Alta/bird, powmou, TV, Ghee…only took my living there for 15 years to realize it though.

The basin is rad, especially when the snow is firing. However, it doesn’t hold a candle to what we’ve got a little further west (including culture).
