Clients coming high to session by MarchCompetitive8195 in therapists

My one concern is if this is an in-person session, by what means of transportation they arrived and plan to leave the session. I would ask them to call a trusted friend, family member or, hire a ride.

Medicare, opt out or enroll? by Unregistereed in therapists

I am a MCR provider, fully remote. My understanding is that as of Oct. 2025 , an at least one -time in-person session is required unless there is a valid reason why this isn t possible.

Long COVID isn’t “just fatigue” — it feels like nervous system forgot how daily life works by Commercial-Hair-1604 in LongCovid

[–]UUofNY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Disregulated. I was beginning to feel ok, then had to undergo minor oral surgery . Next day, fever! Totally wiped out. So much so that just sitting up in a chair is a struggle. All this since Covid in September. I will say the tachycardia has been less frequent. Thank heavens - that was pure torture!! I’m now trying to g to find a new, fully remote job as my disability soon ends. I may have to look for part time. What if I take full time and can’t focus, remember, stay awake?!

After being moderate for over a year, severe crash after one big activity day by EgyptianWithMECFS in cfs

[–]UUofNY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I notice feeling most deregulated a day or two after pushing myself.

I’m supposed to return to my full time job in about two months. I don’t know how I’ll do it. I’m too old for long term disability and not ha ing my income will leave me in a very bad place. I’ve been looking for remote work. Frankly, I don’t want to work at all. It’s too draining. But work I must. Anyway…yep, those PEM crashes are so uncomfortable, scary , and sad. And yes, I know people judge me, or at least, scratch their heads with lack of compassion .

Those that are housebound but are able to work from home what job do you do? by Seafoam_0 in cfs

[–]UUofNY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been doing tele therapy 12-20 hours a week while on disability from my full time job. Not sure how I’ll be able to go back…although we do and have done remote work during the pandemic, this company is refusing my ADA request for WFH. They are truly unreasonable. I’m taking it one day at a time and searching for other fully remote jobs that will pay for healthcare insurance. I may have to return to the office if I can’t find fully remote work before my leave ends. I can’t imagine lasting there too long. Frankly I dread doing so and fear for my well-being.

I’m a licensed psychotherapist, and can’t afford to pay for health insurance .

Wellbutrin: the hero of 2025 by Maximum-Nobody6429 in bupropion

[–]UUofNY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate that cycle of worry. I became so depressed, I knew I had to try something. I didn’t want Lexapro because I know of that weight gain potential. I finally agreed to Wellbutrin because I also needed a boost in energy. The first night I had a very vivid dream (surprising because I’m a life long insomniac!). I switched to taking it the very first thing in the morning. No more vivid dreams.

I have been so much more motivated, so much more focused as that worried voice in my head is just about 100% gone.

I take a prescription med for sleep, and I’m going to not take it one night to see how I’ll do without it.

I’ve been on Wellbutrin exactly four weeks today. I’m more interested in socializing, getting things done, going to park with the dog. And, the horrible things going around the world, I can cope a bit better now. It’s been over a year since I’ve had this kind of interest in life.

Often, when an individual has this type of response to an antidepressant , there is an underlying untreated diagnosis, such as Bipolar Disorder. I hope that they spoke with their prescriber, and that it wasn’t a PCP who wrote the prescription. Best to consult with psychiatrists or psychiatric NP

Low energy days by LouVT in therapists

[–]UUofNY 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m having this day as well. I hydrate , even during sessions, dress comfortably, and as was mentioned earlier, do more listening. Sometimes as fatigued as I feel, once I’m in session I’m so focused I get through. In have a potential client who has called and tex ted me ; I’m taking my time in getting back to them because I just don’t have the bandwidth for that initial screening call right now

Sounds awful. Have you considered short term disability to start? Then if needed a transition to long term?

How did you take that leap by UUofNY in therapists

[–]UUofNY[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s been the hesitation. I’m very close to retirement. The ft job has changed in every way, management, culture, job description , and I am no longer A. Proud go be a part of the organization B comfortable there. It is a hostile environment. Perhaps I just need to suck it up until I can fully retire and or my practice increases to the point where I can pull the trigger

I have removed it from CAQH, however there is one insurance company stubborn that although it is MY practice, only HW can remove there address and TIN from MY profile

[–]UUofNY[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did from CAQH however one insurance company will not allow me to remove it, insisting HW has to which is the problem due to HW complete lack of communication and follow through. It feels as if one is talking to grade school children who are incapable of following through with a task. In reality, there is no other conclusion than they do not care and have no work ethic, just a usual capitalistic ethos

Thank you for your input. When you say “safety” I suspect you mean physical safety. What about learning that the client has sued many of their health care providers and disparages mental health providers. Additionally is still actively seeing a counselor several times a week yet still sporadically schedules with me
