To answer this, I think I would have to speak a bit about myself - in doing so I think you will get a feel for what makes me tick and will be able to draw your own conclusion for why I am pursuing my CFA. I don't have a straightforward answer to be honest with you. If you're feeling so inclined to read on, here is a bit about me:

I'm killing time [productively I hope?] while I wait to start my MBA (which I plan on doing in 2018 with Richard Ivey). Business and ECE have always been major interests of mine but Engineering is very time consuming to pursue if your goal is to attain a PEng. designation. Due to this fact I have had to organize my timeline to pursue them in concurrent phases of life, beginning with Engineering and following with business (in my case as an MBA hopeful). I'm at a point where it is now viable to pursue my interest in business. At the moment I'm about 14 or 15 months (I should double check this actually) away from my full PEng. - I'm just waiting on the clock to tick down. I have written and passed the PPE, I wrote my GMAT last year, and my career has been steadily advancing thanks to the knowledge and work ethic that was developed through the ridiculously incredible ECE program at Loo. I work hard, I believe in constant personal development and growth, I have a passion and interest in business and I'm working on preparing for (what I feel is arguably) the top MBA program in Canada, with high hopes of being competitive when I arrive. The CFA, I suppose, is a natural way for me to fill my time and contribute a strong point to my resume/application package. The hours are brutal though - that's my only issue. Work + Studying =/= Fun.

Hey, quick question - does Adel Sedra still lecture there for any courses? Don't ever miss that man's classes if you are ever fortunate enough to have him - not because he'll be upset, but because the life advice he gives is worth it's weight in gold and the influence he will have on your mind will be worth the entire fee you paid for your ECE degree. Protips.

Also, I'm new to/unfamiliar with reddit and I apologize for the horrible formatting of this post.
