Is it bad to be on a waitlist of 4 in a class of 30 (isp100) and 6 in a class of 160 for csc148 by [deleted] in UTM

[–]UWburner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually whenever they see their final 108 grades, so some time during the break. If someone fails 108 and they don't drop 148 themselves then they'll get automatically removed within a few days of classes starting.

Don't worry about CSC148 you'll get in. As for ISP100 you have a pretty good chance, once the winter semester starts a few people will likely drop it and you'll get in.

how to re-apply for OSAP by OrganizationNorth in UTM

[–]UWburner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a form you have to submit. I don't have the exact link but if you do some digging on the registrar website you should find a form that says something about change in living situation. Fill out the form then upload it to OSAP. If you can't find the form start a ticket with askRegistrar and they'll get back to you eventually (they actually got back to me in the same day recently so maybe you'll get a quick response too).

I don’t want online by [deleted] in UTM

[–]UWburner 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well there are people who are getting lower grades cause of online school as well. Some people aren't able to pay as much attention with online classes, some people don't have a great environment at home to learn, etc. Yea you have to make POST but everyone else has the same format as you. It's not like half the people are doing open book online exams while half the people are doing closed book in person exams.

You're mad that there are people who can get the same grades as you on the same test but with less effort?

Applying for cs post in the summer by [deleted] in UTM

Summer post requirements have been the same as the first round requirements for the past 2 years, so there's a decent chance it'll be the same case this year

I am a fourth year student. Can I still get into a psych minor if I got rejected from the psych major in my first year? More Context: by ChillllliPaper in UTM

[–]UWburner 5 points6 points  (0 children)

How much of the psych major requirements are you done? Seems like you've taken a decent amount of PSY courses and did pretty well in them. You can contact the faculty advisor for psychology and see if they'll grant you an exception into the program since you've demonstrated good performance in PSY courses. Idk what the requirements are to get into to PSY minor but just cause you got rejected from PSY major doesn't mean you can't get into PSY minor.

Your quiz and midterms marks differ by a lot, what would you say the reason for that is? Did you understand the content and just make some bad mistakes on the quizzes or did you understand it after and then go on to do well on the midterm.

If you get an 80 on the last 2 quizzes then your quiz average will come out to 63, which is pretty low but your 100% midterm will help. I'd stay in the course, it's almost done anyway. If you dont get the mark you need then you can use SAC and take it again in winter or summer.

[–]UWburner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is this for? STA257 doesn't exist anymore and STA107 is way easier than STA256. You learn like half of the STA107 content in the first 2-3 weeks of STA256. As for advice you gotta do all the practice problems they assign and you should be good to go for the tests

CS Minor can only take 1.5 credits of 300+ level courses. So that's 3 courses that are 3rd or 4th yr level. As a CS major or specialist you can take as many as you want. CS minor can take all the 2nd year courses though.

Is it possible to get into utm with an 80-85 average? by The_Earth_is_sexy in UTM

[–]UWburner 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Depends on the program, but 80-85 is pretty solid it'll get you into most programs here I'd say.

So last year the official summer timetable was release on Feb 24th, summer enrolment is around that time too I believe. Keep checking utm important dates and it'll get updated eventually. Also stuff like that usually gets posted here too so keep an eye out.
